Welcome back to the second season of The Inspiration Station with me, Reagan Hune! Thank you so much for taking my advice from my own experiences as a high school student athlete. I would not be where I am today without my listeners. In this episode, I admit that I, at times, have wanted to quit. We all know the song, we all love the song. You hear it at weddings, in bars, on concert playlists: American Pie. This classic track is a song written by Don Mclean in 1971, is a song that takes it’s listeners on a lyrical tour of the 1950’s and 1960’s. Starting with the plane crash that began all the music madness of the 60’s, Mclean takes you through all the way until the music dies.

Jessica Laird, a behavioral therapist, talks about her wedding, her childhood, and her dreams of becoming a writer in this spin off of the popular radio show “Desert Island Disc”. She imparts her wisdom and shares some laughs, while discussing what 3 songs, book, and luxury item she would want with her if she was trapped on a deserted island.

This desert island disc project was about my mom Brooke Ferrell, and what songs/books/luxurys she’d want to take with her.  I used her for the project because I found it interesting to know what types of songs she’d choose vs what I would.  So the project basically just shows off her favorite songs and why they are good songs.
