August 4, 2023. Write that date down and REMEMBER it. That is the day The Pac 12 died. Due to negligence of some bad management and misreading the ever changing media markets. Meanwhile, the Big Ten has gone in the other direction while the Big 12 QUIETLY has survived losing their top 2 name brands because Brett Yormark continues to show why he is considered one of the top executives in the biz. Historic day and Big Ten fans should be pleased as punch commissioner Tony Petitti has a vast and extensive resume in the media industry. HUGE day with more potential huge days ahead.

NFL Camps are open and we have practices. And practices mean.. injuries and scares. Bengals fans began day drinking when Joe Burrow went down but... he should be ok. #CalfStrain. We have the usual pulls,cramps and sit outs as well as the new NFL version of NBA LOAD MANAGEMENT.  We also have a coach vs coach Texas Death match....+ we have holdouts with elite players such as Nick Bosa and Chris Jones.  And Mom/Dad: Please do not allow your boys to be running backs!!!!

The season is near as training camps are starting to open up around the country. We have signings, franchise tag deadlines, angry running backs and MANY happy fans in the greater Washington DC area. So much to cover and discuss... and I didn't mention Aaron Rodgers once. #LFG

Camp is near... players are wrapping up vacation and teams are scanning waiver wires/free agency boards for steals that can put them over the top. And The NY Giants. Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders have contact situations with franchise tagged running backs. Meanwhile, veteran stars such as Dalvin Cook, Ezekiel Elliot and Leonard Fournette are all homeless. Potential for holdouts exist and good players usually find teams.

The NFL on field activity has stopped until rookies report at the end of July. Team 126 did good- no actually GREAT- when you consider this team was picked 9th in the league and stood at 17-14 (2-8 in the ACC) at 31 games. The Tigers blew it up in the 2nd half, winning 17 straight and the ACC tournament championship. The nation noticed and Clemson was a Regional Host in the College World Series. Only a late 2 out rally by a super talented Tennessee team prevented The Tigers from doing more damage. As tough as the loss was--and it WAS----the future is bright for Clemson Baseball under the direction of Head Coach Erik Bakich and his tremendous staff. #GoTigers #LFG

The 2023 Michigan Baseball season was a year of transition as Coach Tracy Smith took over under difficult circumstances yet we leave the year with some good trends. Several of the younger players developed and the new coaching staff has adjusted well to the Midwest and Big Ten. Much work is needed in the offseason with both recruiting and the transfer portal the life of all college sports but I remain confident in this group heading forward. #LFG
