Powerful story!!

I just recently finished reading Because of the Rain and was so blessed by this book. What a story of love, mercy, grace, and restoration!! This book covers some very sensitive subjects in a beautiful way. It tells the story of a married couple who are still very much in love after many years of marriage and two daughters. On a business trip with her husband, Anna is brutally beaten and raped, and as a result of the rape, finds herself pregnant. There is a lot of raw emotion as Anna comes to terms with what has happened to her and works through her anger and fear...along with her relationship with her husband and daughters. This book handles the moral dilemma of a woman of faith who finds herself in an impossible situation, and how through faith and the love and support of her husband, God brings beauty from the ashes of her pain and grief. The decisions she makes may surprise you, but I will leave that up to you to discover. I highly recommend Because of the Rain

Wow!

Deborah Randy weaves an incredible story about faith, living your convictions, and submitting to God's will. She tackles a tough, controversial subject very well.

Absolutely Fantastic

I wish there were more stars to give this book. I couldn't believe how quickly I became caught up in the story. This book is a testament to how powerful the love between two people can be and how, even the most secure couple needs the love and comfort that only God can give. With that kind of faith they can truly survive anything. This is a powerful story that brought me to tears of both sadness and joy. I was sorry to finish the book. It is truly uplifting, showing that with God even the worst things in life He can turn into blessings.

The Blessing

An extraordinarily difficult subject - a rape that results in a pregnancy - written in a sensitive way, I am blessed. The couple struggled with their convictions to make the right decisions in a very real way. They suffered too with their choices. This is a Christian novel that leaves you with hope.

Some situations, like adult daughter Kara's reaction and some of Anna's choices, were a stretch, but overall this was an honest look at how difficult it can be sometimes to truly follow our God. I just wish there were more prayers along the way.
