cw: discussion of death and loss
A big result of my missionary experience was quadrupling down on the idea that I needed to GET MARRIED and BE A MOTHER. I’ve been seeing more and more talk about this in my journal, and even in my emails home, so I’ve gotta’ talk about it once again. This week I’m drawing in the wisdom of Margi Dehlin, as she explained how orthodox Mormon teachings and culture harmed her over her life as a young woman, wife, and mother. I know this episode is a little longer but I think it’s worth listening to!
In week thirty-one, my journal entries include returning to a regular two-by-two companionship after weeks in a trio, getting a chance to sing with my “real voice,” and doubling down with fasting and thought-stopping after a particularly frustrating day.
