    • How to focus on the positive contributions you’re making in your business and life and tune out the negative naysayers.
    • How to relinquish control over aspects of your business to allow for more productivity
    • Going against the status quo

    • Engaging and passing the baton to the next generation of leaders

Bio: Since the age of four, Deke has called Augusta, Georgia, his home. In the mid-2000s, as tensions mounted among political parties, Deke was called to take on the challenge to represent the needs of the people of Augusta. In 2005, at the age of 37, Deke ran for mayor in Augusta and won. As the city’s politics were broken, Deke worked for the next nine years as a changemaker for the city of Augusta by challenging the status quo and working in the face of adversity for a better future.
