What started as a weight-loss journey in 2020 became something much deeper.
In this episode, I’m talking about how walking, journaling, Scripture, surrender, and learning to care for my body helped me heal in ways I didn’t expect. Even after losing weight and changing my body, I learned that confidence wasn’t going to come from a mirror it had to come from God.
This is about stewardship, self-love, surrender, and learning to see your body as a gift instead of a problem to fix.
Baby, you’re the glass slipper. Rare. Valuable. Created with intention. 🤍
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 + Psalm 139:14
One year ago, I said yes to a podcast I never imagined I’d have.
I started recording in my office closet, surrounded by blankets, wondering if anyone would ever listen. Looking back, I realize God wasn’t just building a podcast... He was building me.
In this special one-year anniversary episode, I’m reflecting on the lessons, the heartbreaks, the victories, and the quiet ways God has transformed my heart over the last 365 days.
We talk about:
🤍 Healing that happened quietly
🤍 Learning that slowing down isn’t falling behind
🤍 Why not everyone is meant to go where God is taking you
🤍 Raising children while becoming yourself
🤍 Living the dreams my mama had for me
🤍 Honoring the prayers and sacrifices of the generations before me
This isn’t just a celebration of a podcast.
It’s a celebration of God’s faithfulness.
If you’re in a season of becoming, I pray this conversation reminds you that God isn’t finished with your story yet.
Scripture: 1 Samuel 7:12
Thank you for walking this journey with me.
I love y’all… real bad. 🤍
Have you ever looked back at a season that almost broke you… and realized it was actually shaping you?
In this episode of Becoming with Sarah La’Joy, I’m sharing what pain taught me. We’re talking about the friendships that changed, the disappointment that lingered, the prayers that weren’t answered the way I hoped, and the quiet ways God restored me.
This isn’t a conversation about pretending the pain didn’t hurt. It’s about looking back and realizing that sometimes the lesson really does become the blessing.
So if you’re in a season of asking “Why?” or you’re finally beginning to see the beauty in what you’ve been through, I hope this episode reminds you that your story isn’t over.
Grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let’s become… together. 🤍
Sometimes growth doesn’t look like gaining more — it looks like being more intentional with what (and who) you allow into your life.
In Part 2 of God Changed My Perspective, I’m talking about what really happens when your mindset shifts.
Not just how you see things…
but how you move.
Because when your perspective changes:
• you stop over-explaining
• you become okay with being misunderstood
• you recognize that not everyone loves you — some love what you bring
• and your circle… starts to shift
This episode is about learning that access is a privilege, not an obligation.
Some relationships don’t end —
they just change roles.
And for the most part, I’m grateful to have people around me who see my growth, support it, and allow me to evolve — even if we’re not always on the same path.
If you’ve been feeling like certain dynamics in your life are changing…
this is your reminder
✨ it’s not always loss
✨ it’s alignment
Sometimes we pray for God to change the situation… but instead, He changes how we see it.
In this episode of Becoming, Sarah La’Joy talks honestly about what happened when God started shifting her perspective. From letting go of petty reactions to learning not to over-explain herself, she shares how protecting her peace became more important than proving a point.
Through real life moments motherhood, growth, and everyday faith Sarah reflects on what it means to live differently when your mindset begins to align with God.
Rooted in Proverbs 31:30, this conversation explores how wisdom, purpose, and spiritual maturity change the way we respond to people, situations, and even ourselves.
Because sometimes the real transformation isn’t around you.
It’s within you.
And when your perspective changes… everything else starts to shift too.
Comfort Is Costing You,
Nothing is falling apart.
You’re not in crisis.
You’re not spiraling.
You’re just… comfortable.
And that’s the problem.
In this episode, I’m unpacking the hard truth I had to face:
You cannot live on autopilot and expect to experience the full life God promised you.
We’re talking about:
• Wanting the mind of Jesus and the body of the baddest stripper — but avoiding the work
• Perfectionism disguised as discipline
• The quiet weight of unspoken things
• How “keeping the peace” can slowly disconnect you from yourself
• And why comfort feels safe… but costs growth
This isn’t shame.
This is awareness.
If you’ve been feeling “off” but can’t quite name why — this episode is your gentle wake-up.
Let’s stop disappearing quietly.
What happens when you stop surviving and start living from wholeness?
In this episode of Becoming, I talk about how reclaiming my soft life helped me appreciate my beauty — not just on dressed-up days, but in the quiet, ordinary moments too.
I share reflections on slowing down, being present, enjoying life with intention, spending time with God, and learning how to feel beautiful without performing or overdoing it.
This episode is for the woman who’s learning how to feel good in her life, trust her peace, and recognize that nothing is missing in her.
What if the soft life isn’t something you buy — but something you remember?
In this episode, I talk about reclaiming a way of living that once came naturally to me. From childhood tea parties and the safety of being covered, to adulthood where silence feels uncomfortable and peace takes intention, this conversation is about slowing down without guilt and letting go of the armor we picked up along the way.
We talk about:
Why chaos can feel easier than calm
How silence makes us sit with ourselves
Letting go of armor without losing strength
Choosing peace even when it feels unfamiliar
And remembering that if God has us covered, we don’t have to live like we’re alone
This one is honest, reflective, and meant to be taken slowly.
We’ll pick this back up…
same time next week.
My kids are four years apart —
which means they met different versions of me.
Not because I didn’t love them.
Not because I didn’t try.
But because life kept changing me.
In this episode, I’m reflecting on motherhood through postpartum depression, deployments, starting over in new states without family nearby, and learning how to keep going even when I felt empty.
We talk about guilt, grace, survival seasons, and what it looks like to parent from healing instead of survival.
About the moments that didn’t look perfect — but were still rooted in love.
If you’re a mom…
if you’re healing while raising kids…
or if you’ve been strong for so long that rest feels unfamiliar —
this conversation is for you.
This season didn’t start with noise — it started with peace.
In the first episode of Season 2, I’m reflecting on life after becoming.
The quiet confidence.
The unfamiliar calm.
The realization that I might already be who I once prayed to be.
We talk about learning to trust peace, singing love songs to myself as a form of self-love, and unlearning the belief that I was “too much.” This episode is about honoring growth without rushing it, and choosing softness without guilt.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your peace is real…
this one’s for you.
