Episode 9: Learning to Trust God Again
There are seasons when trusting God feels natural—and then there are seasons when life hurts so deeply that even your faith begins to feel fragile.
In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about what happens when disappointment, grief, unanswered prayers, and unexpected endings leave you questioning the God you once trusted so easily.
Sometimes the struggle isn’t that you stopped believing in God. It’s that you don’t understand why He allowed certain things to happen. You prayed. You believed. You hoped. And when things still fell apart, a part of you began protecting your heart—even from God.
This conversation is about finding your way back.
We’ll explore the difference between trusting God and understanding His plan, how to be honest with Him about your hurt, and what it looks like to rebuild faith one small step at a time. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay to come back to God. You can bring Him the questions, disappointment, anger, fear, and broken pieces too.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Trusting God again doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly have every answer. It means choosing to believe that even in the chapters you don’t understand, God has not stopped being present.
Maybe your faith looks different now. Maybe it’s quieter. Maybe it’s being rebuilt after surviving things you never thought you would face.
That doesn’t make your faith less real.
Sometimes becoming her again means realizing that God never asked you to have everything figured out. He simply asks you to keep bringing your heart back to Him.
You may not understand the journey yet, but you can still trust the One walking with you through it.
There are parts of us that grow older, and there are parts of us that stay frozen in the moments that hurt us most.
In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re having a tender conversation about the little girl within the version of you who may have felt unseen, unheard, unprotected, rejected, or forced to grow up too soon.
We’ll explore how childhood wounds can quietly follow us into adulthood, shaping the way we love, trust, communicate, set boundaries, and see ourselves. Sometimes the woman you are today is still reacting from places the little girl inside of you never had the chance to heal.
Healing doesn’t mean pretending the past didn’t happen. It means finally giving yourself the compassion, safety, reassurance, and love you may have needed back then. It means allowing God into the places you learned to hide and trusting Him to restore what pain tried to take from you.
You are not required to keep carrying old wounds into new seasons.
The little girl within you deserves to know she is safe now. She is worthy. She is loved. She is seen. And she no longer has to fight for the love, protection, or validation she always deserved.
Sometimes becoming her again means reaching back, holding the hand of the girl you once were, and reminding her that she made it.
And now, it’s time for both of you to heal.
Starting over can feel scary—especially when you thought you would be further along by now. But beginning again doesn’t mean you failed. Sometimes, it means you’ve finally gained the courage to choose differently.
In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about releasing the shame attached to starting over and giving yourself permission to create a new beginning. Whether you’re rebuilding after heartbreak, walking away from something you’ve outgrown, rediscovering your dreams, or simply realizing you want more for your life, you are allowed to change direction.
We’ll explore the fear of starting over, the pressure of other people’s expectations, and the importance of trusting God when the next chapter doesn’t look anything like the one you originally planned.
You don’t need permission from the people who knew the old version of you to become the woman God is calling you to be.
Your past may be part of your story, but it doesn’t get to write your ending. You can choose again. Dream again. Believe again. And most importantly you can begin again.
This isn’t the end of your story. It may be the beginning of the chapter where you finally meet the woman you’ve been becoming all along.
We spend so much of our lives searching for the right relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners that we often overlook the one relationship that influences every area of our lives—the one we have with ourselves.
In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we explore what it means to rebuild trust with yourself after disappointment, heartbreak, setbacks, and seasons of self-doubt. We’ll talk about learning to listen to your own voice again, extending yourself grace, and choosing self-compassion over self-criticism.
You’ll discover that healing begins when you stop abandoning yourself to meet everyone else’s expectations. As your relationship with yourself grows stronger, you’ll make healthier decisions, build healthier relationships, and walk more confidently in the purpose God has for your life.
Setting boundaries sounds simple but if you’ve ever felt guilty for saying “no,” afraid of disappointing others, or worried that protecting your peace would cost you a relationship, you’re not alone.
In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we explore why boundaries can feel so difficult to create and maintain. We’ll unpack how childhood experiences, people-pleasing, fear of rejection, and the desire to be accepted often leave us believing that putting ourselves first is selfish.
You’ll learn that healthy boundaries aren’t walls meant to push people away they’re bridges that protect your peace, honor your values, and create space for healthier relationships. God never intended for you to sacrifice your well-being just to keep everyone else comfortable.
It’s time to stop feeling guilty for protecting the life God has entrusted to you. Saying “no” to what drains you is often the first step toward saying “yes” to the woman you’re becoming.
Have you ever felt like you had to work for love? Like you had to be more, do more, fix more, or prove your worth just to be accepted?
In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we uncover the damaging belief that love must be earned. We’ll explore how past experiences, rejection, and unhealthy relationships can make us believe our value is tied to our performance instead of who we are.
Together, we’ll talk about breaking free from people-pleasing, embracing healthy love, and recognizing that your worth has never depended on anyone else’s approval. It’s time to release the pressure to earn what should be given freely and begin accepting the love God intended for you.
Because real love doesn’t require you to lose yourself it reminds you who you truly are.
Please know that your messages, prayers, and support have meant more than words can express. I appreciate every one of you who has checked in, continued to support my journey, and given me the grace to step back when needed.
I will return when I am emotionally and mentally ready, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you all. A new episode will be aired this coming Saturday July 18th.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and most importantly, your love.
Forever in loving memory of Jeffery Brown and Michael Wallace. 🕊️🤍
