The trifecta... worry, fear and anxiety is often debilitating!  It can be like living with a perpetual dark cloud hanging over your head; monkey mind keeping you up at night; finding yourself spontaneously bursting into tears, and, well, just generally walking (all zombie-like) through life in a funk.

I have been there, and done that.  I was once so sucked into all three of those states (worry, fear and anxiety) that I couldn't function enough in my daily living activities, to even go to work!

Change is hard. (Gross understatement, I know!)  Once we make a decision to change, people, circumstances and events seems to come up (seemingly out of nowhere) to get in the way of that - to snap us back in line!  And, (sigh) I know that it can seem reaaaaally easy to just give in and slip back into routine, leaving things to return to the status quo, but I believe that once you change how you perceive the appearance of those people, circumstances and events, you will find the last burst of strength you need to run the Gauntlet of Change.

In this episode I share a bit about some changes I've been making and how some unseen force seems determined to keep things 'AS IS'!

Wish you could find more peace in your every day, and believe you absolutely would (be able to find it), if it weren't for other people doing things that piss you off???  Do you know someone that is always upset about something?  Usually about something that someone else has done (or is doing) that just sets them off?  Do you also know someone that always shares their opinion with you - about every little thing and drives you crazy?  Perhaps you also know someone that thinks they are always right... about everything!   Sigh.

Hey wait!  Here's a thought to consider....  Maybe there are other people you know, that think that about YOU?!?  Ouch.

I'm not saying that it is you, but I know it was (and sometimes still is) me!  (Don't judge!  I'm a work in progress!!)

I have opinions (I think are right); I get upset when people (other countries, government, businesses, children, my husband, the dog even) do things that I don't agree with;  I offer unsolicited advice whenever I think I can fix something (or someone), or make things easier (in my perception) for them to keep them from failing, or falling, or whatever.

But there's a twist here that you might be missing!

In this episode, I share a few instances where changing how I view:  what people say and do; circumstances I observe; and my own behaviour, has made such a big difference in how I feel everyday!  Wow, what a load off!!!  Experiencing peace doesn't have to mean forsaking humankind and moving to a deserted island just to get some danged peace! - Not when you know the secret anyway!   (Wait until you hear how simple it is!!!)

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me!"  Do you remember that sing-song little ditty from the school playground?  I sure do!  We would sing it out loud and wear it like a shield, to protect us when school yard bullies would say mean things about us and we would pretend the words didn't hurt.  But damn, they did hurt!  

I for one, can remember obsessing over whatever newest insult had been hurled at me and then, assuming it was now mine to keep, simply added it to the growing pile of reasons I shouldn't love myself... Why I was subpar... Not worthy of being 'a cool kid'... Or simply just not worthy at all.

I took those words into myself as truth and as belonging to me.  But only because no-one had taught me HOW NOT TO!!!

And, speaking of words... Why are 'inappropriate words' deemed inappropriate, and who decides that they are?  

Why YOU DO of course!!  Words are very powerful - and YOU can choose to assign your own meaning to them - you absolutely DO NOT have to accept the status quo!  Listen to a few quick stories I tell in this episode to illustrate exactly how I do that for myself, and consider it your permission slip to do the same!  

Disclaimer:  I do use a wee bit of 'inappropriate' (or is it???  haha) language in this one... but only to demonstrate a point!

Do you listen to your intuition?  That soft (or sometimes really loud) voice you hear, or the feeling you get in your gut that is trying to warn you or guide you about something is ever present, if we are listening for it - or simply just ask! (crazy concept right???) 

Buuuuut, when we hear it, and choose not to listen.... well, it can come with a hefty price (figuratively and literally)!

In my case, I absolutely heard the sweet song of inspiration, quite loudly in fact, but some of my 'other' parts, over-rode the warnings I received, aaaaaand I chose to listen to the people-pleasing part of me (along with some other parts) instead, and forged on in to a mistake where the price was 7 years on my belly under my house!

This episode, I'll share a funny story with you (not at all funny at the time for me!), but in the spirit of my podcast vision, it does come with a few suggestions that you may find helpful as a reminder to NOT ignore your intuition, along with a side lesson about how always needing to do everything yourself, and never asking for help, can sometimes mean there is an opportunity for healing that you just may want to explore.

In this episode, my friend Melissa shares what it was like for her to wake up at 40 (years old), from a 22 year long nightmare, after realizing that she no longer recognized herself... She felt stuck, extremely depressed, and at times, literally like she was dying.  

Recognizing that living as she was, was no longer an option, Melissa knew it was time to step out of a role she had assigned to herself (back when she felt unworthy of anything more!), and she began a new journey.  Listen along as Melissa tells of how she created a new life, learned how to find herself again, and through the telling, shares the inspiring message that it's never to late to start over!

Did you know that you have over 60,000 thoughts a day???  How many of them are you actually aware of?  And, should you care?

FACT:  Your thoughts, if repeated (which most of them actually are!) become beliefs... And your beliefs become who you are and are reflected in everything you do and say!  

This can be problematic for you when the beliefs you have, may not accurately reflect who you wish to be (maybe they did once, but not anymore, or maybe they weren't yours to begin with?!?), and can often get in the way of you having what you want in life, so YUP, you should care!  ;)

I read a statement in a book that got me thinking about this premise - and it's HUGE importance and impact in our lives, and in this episode, I share what I have learned so you can benefit in your life too.
