Following the announcement of the resignation of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, some South of the border continue to push the narrative of Canada as America’s 51st state. In fact, President-elect Donald Trump suggested this would now be a good time for Canada to join the US. We discuss the implications of such a ‘merger’ with Aaron Ettinger, Associate Professor of International Relations at Carleton University.

Next – the resignation announcement by the PM helped to push the Canadian dollar slightly higher, in a move some experts say reflects greater confidence in Canada’s economy with new leadership coming. And finally – it’s a Calgary-based pilot project that pairs students and seniors in an inter-generational living environment. We hear just how the project is going from Shannon Penner, a psychology student at Mount Royal University – who’s been living at a ‘Silvera For Seniors’ residence for the last 4 months.
