You can not create a state of “Becoming”, if you aren’t willing to let the former or current realities go and go with the natural flow of accepting change.
So on this edition of “Becoming Today”, we’ll consider some questions. Not easy ones, but ones that are essential in helping us to determine what season of life we each are embarking upon.
Let’s get to work...

Yesterday we began to look at Expanding Your Circles and today we'll broaden our discussion upon that by looking at some possible ways and times when you can easily begin enlarging your spheres.
In the Scriptures, the passage often referred to as “A Time For Everything”, outlines the many changing seasons we all experience in life. It outlines the constant cycle of “Becoming”. In fact 28 specific times or seasons are mentioned in this one passage.
Now on “Becoming Today”, as part of our examination of ourselves and our shared paths we’ll take note that not included in those examples is a very important aspect; none of the 28 mention a time to quit.

On our shared path of “Becoming Today”, change is the one constant. We must always be willing to embrace the idea, to seek to better ourselves, our families, our communities and society in general.
Where there is risk, there is always the potential for reward. We must choose to act in those moments and not react to circumstances that develop from our lack of action or the outright refusal to act, decide or choose.

In part one of my sharing on this experience we discussed how Faith is the assurance of things we hope for, but have not yet received.
Faith is also the confidence, belief and trust in things that are not seen. Faith must be present before a prayer can be answered.
Faith is hard work, but its rewards are truly remarkable. That’s where we’ll pick up our conversation here on “Becoming Today”.

It’s one of those moments when life happens. Beyond our control, testing our resolve, causing us to realign our best made plans.
I promised yesterday to continue today with part two of Faith Over Fear … and well this is not it.

Yesterday we spoke a bit about “My Revival” and how this 11-day journey has reinforced my calling to be an ambassador. An envoy of all the possibilities that exist for ourselves and each other. To be an emissary of what we should expect and where to seek (and receive) the answers.
I mentioned we can all find them, but first there is something required of each of us. To take a proverbial leap of faith. That’s where we are leaping to now, here on” Becoming Today”.

As we continue our shared journey along this path of “Becoming Today”, it should not be a surprise that while we “travel” together, no two routes are identical. Most times they are more like rivers than highways. Traveling forward with an ebb and flow, meandering at times rather than the constant buzz and speed of an Interstate.
Recently I journeyed away from familiar surroundings on a trip that took me places I hadn’t planned on and taught me lessons I didn’t even know I needed.

Another week is flying by here at “Becoming Today”. I hope it has been as rewarding for you as it has been for me. In this edition we’ll review the knowledge gained over the last several days and how to apply it to our future.
We have been focusing on the concept of prayer. What is it? How to correctly use it and what to expect from it. We began with a definition and centered our discussions around three questions,

Time for more work. If you’ve been with us for a while you may have noticed we are action-centric here at “Becoming Today”. When last we spoke, I asked you to focus on gaining momentum, which I believe should always be focused forward and upward.

This week we are exploring the purpose of prayer in our “Becoming” and today will extend our conversation to include praying for our purpose. More on that in a moment but first, when we last spoke, I hope you’ll recall this part of the discussion.
Practice makes perfect. The old adage holds true especially when considering our daily commitments to ourselves. Just like your workout routine, think of prayer as an added form of exercise, in which the results are guaranteed.
