Welcome to episode 2 of Bede & Trev Vs. The Big Apple. A podcast series on The BVTLD Network, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Trev Snyder explore a variety of films that were made or set in New York City in the '70s, '80s and early/mid '90s.
After tackling the 1980 action/thriller film Night Of The Juggler on their first official episode last month, your hosts Bede & Trev head into their second and final New York film of their "Action" series for January & February. This month is Bede's pick and he decided to go with an action exploitation film that's considered a cult classic. For this episode, your hosts take a look at the Italian produced 1982 dystopian action film 1990: The Bronx Warriors starring Mark Gregory, Vic Morrow, Fred Williamson, Christopher Connelly & George Eastman and directed by Enzo G. Castellari (The Last Shark, The Inglorious Batards).
Joining Bede & Trev to discuss this famous piece of Italian exploitation are their first ever guests on the podcast: John Seavey (host of Half Price Horror) and Chris Iannacone (co-host of Get Me Another). Highlights include Bede & Trev sharing the same origin on how they both saw the sequel Escape from The Bronx before this film, how Mark Gregory's performance makes the film, the amazing bizarre choices that Enzo G. Castellari brings to the film, how the film eerily foreshadows Vic Morrow's death on Twilight Zone: The Movie, which films does this one rip-off?, the characters that stood out and so much more.
