Have you ever stayed underwater just long enough that your lungs began to burn, then suddenly you break the surface and pull in that first deep breath. Air rushes in. Your chest expands. Life floods back into your body. In so many ways, that’s the way our lives can feel. We carry stress, grief, pressure, shame, disappointment, and exhaustion until it feels like we’re drowning beneath the weight of it all, desperate just to breathe again.

This Sunday at BCC, we’ll explore what it means to be Raised and how the story of faith is an invitation for all of us to finally breathe again — to breathe deeply the true life God has always intended for us.

Plants are fascinating. Before any of them can grow their seeds have to be buried. Down in the soil, buried in darkness, something happens, without which nothing new ever emerges. What looks like death is actually the very thing that makes new life possible.

Old wounds. Old shame. The versions of ourselves we keep dragging into the future. We try to love well. We provide, protect, serve, sacrifice, and do everything we can for someone. Then why does resentment still grow, pride still deepen, and affection still quietly disappear? After all, we’ve been told “love is a verb.” It’s shown in words and deeds. But if that were enough, our relationships wouldn’t so often end up exhausted, fractured, or empty. What if we’ve been doing this love thing wrong all along?

Join us this Sunday as we explore a vision of love that goes far deeper than what love does and discover what true love actually looks like. Because what went wrong for the early church, and maybe for us too, is not simply that we stopped loving well, but that we forgot what love actually is.

Imagine trying to build a birdhouse with a toolbox full of nothing but hammers. Sure, you could hit a lot of things, but you’re not measuring, cutting, or drilling anything—you’re just making noise and hoping for the best. Turns out, one tool (no matter how good it is) can’t do the whole job. You actually need a variety, each one designed for a purpose, to build something that works.

Join us at BCC this Sunday as we explore how it’s similar with people. We’re gifted differently on purpose, each with unique roles that complement, support, and strengthen one another. Our Freedom

William Wallace’s cry in Braveheart still echoes in our culture: “You can take our lives, but you can never take our freedom!” It’s more than a movie line—it’s a mantra. We prize freedom, protect it, fight for it, and build our lives around it. Freedom means choice. Freedom means rights. Freedom means no one tells me what to do.

But what if the way we cling to our freedom is actually what’s holding us captive? What if our insistence on doing what we want, when we want, has quietly become a kind of bondage—pulling us away from what God wants to do in us and through us? This Sunday, we’ll wrestle with a surprising truth: the freedom we’re fighting to protect might be the very thing keeping us from the life we were made for.

When a building collapses, the question isn’t just what happened—it’s what failed? Engineers don’t start with the surface; they go straight to the structure. Because almost every time, it comes down to integrity. Something that was supposed to hold everything together didn’t.

The same is true in the church—and in our lives. When integrity is compromised, things don’t just drift… they collapse. This Easter we will celebrate the resurrection with a powerful word — a word that has echoed through centuries, across languages, and throughout the world. It’s the final word of the Lord’s Prayer. The closing word of Scripture. And if we allow it, it can become the defining word of our lives.

This Easter, we gather to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with a resounding “yes” to who God is and what He has done. Resurrection means victory of life over death, hope over despair, grace over sin. And in the power of the empty tomb, we are invited to join the great chorus of faith—lifting our voices together and declaring one life changing word: Amen.

This Sunday is Family Sunday, which means kids will be joining us in the service—and yes, that also means a room full of palm branches just waiting to be used as something they were definitely not meant to be. From swords to sibling-poking devices… the temptation is immediate and very real. And while our kid’s temptation might be a palm branch in the pew, it’s a reminder that temptations of all kinds surround us.

This Sunday, we’re looking at how to handle life’s temptations. We’re all tempted—to compromise, to doubt, to rely on ourselves. But if we have eyes to see it, Palm Sunday shows us a way forward. While the crowd demanded power and control, Jesus chose a different path. Join us as we explore the way He leads us—not just away from temptation, but toward something better.
