After years of waiting, the birth of Isaac finally comes for Abraham and Sarah. Despite all of their shortcomings, doubts, and failures, God remains true to them and gives them a son and a heritage of covenantal loyalty. Yet, while there is much rejoicing in their home, in the tent next door, things are not so sweet. (Genesis 21:1-21)
