Ohio voters recently rejected an initiative that would have legalized recreational and medical use of weed in their state by an overwhelming 64 percent. The measure, which is known as Issue 3, was so unpopular that even pro-marijuana advocates voted against the bill, arguing that it would have created a "marijuana monopoly" among a select group of wealthy investors in the state. We discussed the opposition to Issue 3 as well as the privatization of marijuana with Jon Walker, writer for Massroots and the author of “After Legalization: Understanding the future of marijuana policy.”

We discussed the disparity in treatment of black and brown children in public schools, and how it feeds into the school-to-prison pipeline with Daniel J. Losen, the Director of the Center for Civil Rights Remedies.
