What better way to do a birthday episode than to give you 22 of my top takeaways from my 22 years on this planet ;) Listing my takeaways below! Hope you enjoy this episode.
1.) Life doesn’t always go as planned. It is OKAY for things to stray from the original path.
2.) How you choose to react to a situation often matters and impacts your future more than the situation itself.
3.) Embrace all that is you. YOU are special and unique for your own reasons. BE YOU and do not be ashamed of it.
4.) What others think of you is SO insignificant when it comes to the grand scheme of life. Step out of your box and live your life the way YOU want to.
5.) If you feel like you have to change who you are to be liked by certain people, they aren’t your people. You won’t always be everyone’s cup of tea.
6.) Stop putting so much pressure on yourself, you can’t always do it all. Whatever you CAN do is enough.
7.) It’s okay to not be okay. Speak up about your emotions, ask for help, give yourself breaks.
8.) When you are in your lowest moments, know that one day you will be on the other side reflecting on how you felt, knowing things are better now.
9.) Start small habits NOW. They will impact you for your entire life. Creating habits is the true key to success
10.) If it excites you, brings you joy, or makes you happy… that’s all that matters. A quote I love says: “If you feel your eyes light up when you talk about it, you should try it. No matter what they say.”
11.) Depending on other people for happiness, success, opportunities, etc. Is dangerous. Same thing goes for waiting around to get a lucky opportunity. YOU have all you need. Go out and make it happen. Connections and relationships are amazing things but never rely on them to change your life, only you can o that.
12.) Listen to your intuition. Not everything always makes logical sense but if it FEELS right, it probably is right.
13.) Say yes more. Put yourself out there. Make memories.
14.)PEOPLE MATTER. Love people hard. Be vulnerable and open yourself up to them. Remind them that you love them often. Give that stranger a compliment, text your friends when you are thinking about them, make time for the people you love.
15.) Fear is apart of life but don’t let it hinder you from going after those dreams that scare you. Fav quote “Feel the fear and do it anyway”
16.) Everyone is placed in your life for a reason. People may come and go but each one serves its purpose. Bad or good, relationships shape who you are. It is okay to cut negative people out of your life. Nothing good comes from toxic situations. But try not to hold too big of grudges either. If it’s not serving you, walk away.
17.) Just START. If you have a dream, take that first step. That first step often turns into one massive leap propelling you towards your dreams. Even if they fail, you are now walking down a new path that will open new doors and opportunities for you to walk into.
18.) Find a job that fills your soul. My dad and I always say finding the perfect job requires three things, something you’re good at, something you’re passionate about, and something you can earn a living doing. Life isn’t about finding the highest paying job, it is about finding a job that doesn’t feel like work because you love it so much. Life is too short to spend that much time doing something you hate!
19.) With that being said… it’s okay to take a different path than what society tells us. For me, I didn’t go to college and dropped out to do my dream job. If you want to do a job that doesn’t require a degree then DO it, if you don’t want to ever start a family that’s completely fine, if you want to quit your cooperate job to start your own business DO it, if you want to spend your 20s backpacking the world before you even begin deciding what to do with your life then GO for it. This is your ONE short life, make the most of it and do what makes you happy.
20.) SHOW UP. Show up in everything you do. Show up For your friends and loved ones, for your job, for your audience, for the people who didn’t even ask you to, for yourself. Choosing to be present and show up
21.) Don’t get so caught up in what you’re doing next or in things that happened in the past that you forget to stop and enjoy right NOW. Every moment of your life is precious and you never know what the future holds.
22.) You literally create your life. Everything you could ever imagine is possible if you truly believe it. Set yourself free from the limitations you create for yourself in your mind and your potential is limitless.
