Ken Nelson is a triple Grammy Award winning record producer best known for his work with Coldplay, most notably for producing their first two records. He has achieved commercial success with Gomez and Badly Drawn Boy who have both won the Mercury Music Prize and in 2003 was voted “Producer of the year” by Music Week magazine. He has also produced albums for Paolo Nutini, Kings of Convenience, The Charlatans, Howling Bells and Portugal’s The Gift and Whitecliff.
Dom Richmond of Eiger Studios catches up with Olga FitzRoy to talk all things music production, what it’s like working at the prestigious Air Studios and the process of creating great records.
Olga is a music producer and mix engineer who began her career working at AIR Studios in London. She has worked with George Michael, Paul McCartney on The Beatles Love album, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Muse and Hans Zimmer as well as many Oscar-winning composers and some of the world’s biggest bands. She has also recently been involved with and worked on TV scores such as The Crown, The Innocents and Doctor Who.
In addition to her work as an engineer, Olga is a campaigner on women’s issues, working hard to tackle obstacles faced by self-employed parents with her campaign for Parental Pay Equality, leading to a new bill being debated in Parliament. She has a high-level influence on matters of equality in the music industry through her board membership of UK Music and the Music Producers Guild and was named eleventh on the 2018 Woman’s Hour Power List of women having an impact on music.

Will Jackson is a music producer, engineer and arranger who has achieved commercial success and produced Platinum Award-winning records for The Pigeon Detectives and Stevans as well as working on records with The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs, Wiz Khalifa, Embrace and The Music to name a few. He has also written and performed music for UEFA, FIFA and The One Show and ran a commercial recording facility for over 30 years.

Gordon Raphael is a record producer and musician most widely known for his work with the band The Strokes. Gordon met the strokes while attending one of their very first shows at Luna Lounge in New York City. He went on to produce their debut EP The Modern Age, as well as their first two albums 'Is This It' and 'Room On Fire'. The EP and first album were recorded entirely in his own studio Transporterraum NYC with 'Is This It' later voted album of the decade by NME in the UK, and #2 best of the decade in the USA by Rolling Stone Magazine. He has also worked on projects with many other artists such as Ian Brown, Regina Spektor and most recently the band Hinds, whilst continuing to work on projects across the globe.

Stephen Street is a Grammy award winning English music producer best known for his work with The Smiths, Blur and Pete Doherty. After beginning his musical career playing in various bands around London, Stephen turned his hand to producing records in the early 80’s. During his prestigious career Stephen has shaped the sound of many acts from the UK’s alternative music scene including The Cranberries, New Order, The Maccabees and The Courteeners.
