The history and current workings of Australia's spies are a little opaque to us everyday people.

But a group of Australians, most of whom come from within the intelligence community, is hoping to change that.

The group is proposing that Australia build a National Spy Museum in Canberra, which will look at Australia's espionage efforts and pay tribute to its spooks, past and present.
