The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix has kicked off in Melbourne today.
Nine Radio's Shane McInnes told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, "Even though there are actually no F1 cars on track today, there's a lot going on behind the scenes."
"They're still expected to be around 60 or 70,000 people down here at the park track, just kind of taking it all in."
"I think that goes to just show the growth of the sport, so much of it having to do with that, that Drive to Survive documentary from Netflix and also helped by two Aussies on the grid as well," Mr McInnes continued.
