Author Ken Womack, one of the world's foremost experts on The Beatles, joins us to talk about his book, Living the Beatles Legend: The Untold Story of Mal Evans.

Beatles fans will likely know already about Mal, the band's trusted confidant, protector, road manager and more. In a time when the biggest group in the world desperately needed people around them whom they could trust, Mal was that guy.

But up until the biography came out, Mal's actual story was largely unknown. He was the quintessential figure in the background.

Ken Womack set out to address this, but after the project was already underway, it suddenly escalated to a whole other level thanks to the discovery that Mal's son Gary possessed a box full of notes, diaries, photographs, memorabilia, and even a manuscript that Mal was writing about his life, which sadly was never published before his sudden death. Gary sent over the box, and Ken used his expertise to develop this outstanding book.
