Joining us this week on Behind the Success is Sam Ajayi, who discusses his love for coding, how he was introduced to Keys 2 Success, and how he loved the theater class as a way to express himself. He discusses the challenges and rewards on his piano journey while telling the story about the impact of piano on his life. 

In this episode, Emely chats with Jilani Skinner, a high school volunteer at Keys 2 Success. Jilani talks about how she initially became involved with Keys, what her favorite part about volunteering is, and some of the lessons she’s learned over the past few months. Jilani also discusses her role as a social media manager, and how she's able to find purpose and fulfillment in creating content for Keys. In this episode Emely sat down with K2S intern Ella to discuss her experience volunteering at Keys. Typically seen working behind the scenes, summer camp was Ella's first time teaching in-person piano lessons. Together they discuss Ella's favorite parts about teaching, some lessons she's learned along the way, and how her views on education have developed since working with Keys. Please give a big welcome to this week's guest, Chumani Heard! In her interview with Anusha, Chumani talked about being a college student while working in the summer program this year as a piano teacher. She revealed that she was most impressed by how much she learned from the kids while she was teaching them, how she communicated with them in new, innovative ways, and that she feels inspired to continue learning to play the piano after seeing how passionate the students were about practicing new music. Listen in for more stories on Chumani's experience at summer camp and her insight into the importance of access to an arts education for all. 

In this episode, Emely chats with Ms. Kelly Blessing, the primary art and theatre teacher for the 2022 ACCA Creates Summer Camp. Ms. Kelly talks about the joy and the obstacles that came with casting and directing a play in just a few weeks, working with the kids to create set pieces, as well as other hands-on art projects. Ms. Kelly hopes to teach the kids the importance of ensemble and teamwork, and show them that when a group of people come together to create something as extraordinary as ACCA's production of the Lion King, there are never any small parts!
