Gun violence is a major issue facing America. Our kids are learning how to hide from active shooters in schools, kids in the inner city are walking on different sides of the street to avoid altercations, and much more. Our children are victims even if they aren't near the shooter. They wonder if their school is next, their friend is next, or their family is next. It's traumatizing and unfair. So, how do we as parents address it? How do we bring comfort? How do we help them understand their value and the value they bring to others?
In this conversation, I am joined by Ray Nelson, Director of Outreach and Soul Care at The House D.C. in Washington, D.C.
This is a hard conversation, but necessary. I hope you can engage and listen to what is said. This is not political. This is just a focus on how to address the issue with our children and how to be a safe space.
