Happy Friday Everyone !
I can't believe this is episode 5, since regularly uploading episodes, the views have been going up which i appreciate a lot! Thank you to anyone who stopped by, even if it's only been once. The support is really lovely and encouraging.
This weeks episode is mostly based on 3 bad experiences while actively working as a freelancer in 2018, I mention the companies and my personal experience. Even after these issues i still like and enjoy each of the brands/companies, this is me just sharing an experience with individuals and not the company as a whole.
The 3 stories cover: copyright issues, people failing to get back to you and lastly about those in a superior position talking down to others and just being plain rude.
I know I'm in a very fortunate situation where i can work as a freelancer as my only job, I know many people juggle busy lives and full time work, I appreciate that. Anything i say is because of the situation i am in.
Although my initial plan for this video was supposed to be 50/50 on the good and bad sides of being a freelancer. When planning it out, it was more becoming what it is, where I discuss these bad experience's with big companies. I would like to do a better balanced episode on the real Pro's & Con's of freelancing in the TV/film industry. I also would like to do an episode on my experience with small companies or local businesses/people. If there are any freelance or filming topics you want to hear about let me know.
FYI: If you hear a slight crackling sound, its my headphones which is odd and i didn't realise how much the mic picked up. Don't think I've mentioned it but I'm a little hard of hearing. I criticise myself a lot and when you have to listen to yourself for hours, you begin to hate it.
I'm trying to stay positive, i do hear little issues and mispronunciations so i overthink it. Anyways, i apologise, this is a totally new experience and I'm looking forward to improving throughout time :-)
