One of the influences behind Leading With Nice is social entrepreneur, Bill Strickland. He wrote a book, Make the Impossible Possible, where he tells the story of how the non-profit he founded, The Manchester Bidwell Corporation, came to be. It's a great example of gratitude in practice.
