Being, Coming, Going - Être, Venir, Aller

Listen Later

Mazina, Marnélice, Rahman and Ghasem, four teenagers, wait behind the walls of a former military barracks, their Petit Château.

Born elsewhere, they are waiting to know whether their future lies in Belgium or outside its borders.
This is the time of their 18th birthday.
In this place of transit that welcomes them while their status is being decided, they are looking for words to tell their story.

In Belgium, unaccompanied foreign minors who declare themselves to the authorities are received unconditionally on the territory until they come of age.

To be, to come, to go tells the story of these young people at the turning point when they leave legal childhood and lose the protections associated with it. It offers the listener a sensitive reflection on the notions of truth, wandering and arbitrariness.
