Being Fearless is 1!!! Today on the podcast we are celebrating one year of podcasting! Not only that but we are celebrating friendships! Originally I had recorded a podcast with my bestie Leslie, but alas the computer program crashed and it was lost. The podcast is almost a year old and this is the first time I'm sitting down and having a conversation with a man! Representing all the men in the world this week is Marc Blandin! Marc is the National Endurance Coach for the Team Challenge through the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Marc was my running coach when I trained for my first half marathon and I'm not joking when I tell you, he was the reason I kept going! I had so many questions about running and he answered all of them. Everything I learned from running, I basically learned from Marc. Marc is not only an amazing coach but he is a top fundraiser for the cause. Marc founded the 26.2 for you, which is where he runs a marathon in honor of a Crohn's or Colitis warrior and shares their story to raise awareness. 

In this episode he shares his running journey, how he became involved with the foundation, and gives running tips! He's fantastic! 

This week on the podcast I am answering some of your burning questions! I talk about deleting people on social media and the anxiety that comes with it, how I deal with pain, and I give my (very) beginner writing tips if you are thinking about writing a book.

Keeping up with our Chronic Illness Spotlight Series, this week I have a conversation with Laura Varnum. Laura is a clinical pharmacist at Rhode Island Hospital and advocated and assists patients with their care. Laura has Crohn's disease and openly talks about her journey, including what it was like being pregnant with Crohn's Disease. Laura is part of the Young Professionals Committee and is committed to raising money and awareness for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She gives some seriously great fundraising tips! Charlotte Foley was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at age 17. In this episode she shares her journey and her struggles with her permanent ostomy. Her story is truly inspiring. Charlotte has not let a chronic illness slow her down in life! She actively seeks adventure and lives life to the fullest. She spends her free time roaming around Alaska with friends, visiting  family, and traveling. She works as an Occupational Therapist, and enjoys combining her knowledge on those two topics to improve her and other’s lives for the better! Charlotte's main goal is to not let having an ostomy define her and she's doing a great job to make it look glamorous.  Charlotte has an incredible blog and offers resources for people living with ostomy's.

Let's be real, we ALL make mistakes! I recently made a mistake and wanted to own up to it and talk about mistakes. The mistake I made wasn't huge but I did take time to apologize for it and I can guarantee it won't happen again. That's all you can do right? Own your shit, apologize and do better! It's as simple as that. We are all human and need to have grace for ourselves and others when it comes to mistakes. News flash: you are not always right and it shows confidence to admit when you are wrong and apologize!
