“My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.” (Dalai Lama)
Can you remember a time in your life when someone, whether it be your spouse or significant other, mom or dad, brother or sister, a loved one, or even a stranger was kind to you?
Change the scenario and think of another moment where you were kind to another person? What was their reaction, and how did you respond?
Now, shift from your head into your heart and notice the feelings there.
Kindness affects the giver and receiver, leaving a lasting impression on both.
Joining me today on the Being Inspired Radio Show is spiritual counselor, the founder of Joy On Your Shoulders, and the author of the new children’s book, Designed To Shine! Read-Aloud Rhymes For Any Size Heart, Joy Resor, and together, we are going to unpack what the Dalai Lama said when he expressed that kindness is his religion. Tune in and listen as we explore:
* What love means and all that it contains,
* how practicing kindness requires us to know its opposite (and how when we experience the opposite, we can find our way back to healing through kindness),
* how not belonging can lead to feeling comfortable in your own skin and loving yourself wholly and healing into joy,
* the gifts of experiencing the illusion of separation or feeling unwanted,
* how it is through our darkness that we can transmute ourselves into the brightest light,
* the oneness of everything,
* how kindness heals the illusion of separation and is deeply connected to presence,
* as we remember who we truly are, we can extend kindness first to ourselves and then to others,
* inspiring ways to show even more kindness to those around us,
* and the greatest gift we can give—the gift of true kindness.
