I ask myself the question, and you, what does it mean to be like Jesus? How will I know when I am like Jesus? How will you know when I am like Jesus?
We talk about being like Jesus, but I would hazard a guess that most of us have not understood that the purpose of Christ’s redeeming love was to make us more human, not divine. We believe that to be like Jesus is to be more “spiritual,” but in trying to arrive at this supposed state of spirituality, we lose the very thing that makes us most like Jesus, our humanity.
Jesus shows us, in His humanity, who we were created to be.
We can never become God, but we can be like Jesus, the man, and glorify God.
