Being Triggered and How to Manage the Emotional Spiral

Let's talk triggers! Ughh, nobody likes being put in a situation that brings up negative emotions let alone getting stuck in the emotional spiral that comes after it. Our mind pretty much becomes a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, and of course with emotions running high we may not be thinking from a rational state of mind. This is why our daily talk this week is about being triggered and the importance of identifying them when presented with the opportunity. Not everyone is always aware that triggers are a thing let alone that they experience their own fair share of being triggered and then just carrying that irritation with you. Today we talk about the types of triggers people face, how to respond to being triggered and how to deescalate your heightened emotions when in a triggered state. Just as it is important to take care of our physical bodies, we must also apply this same concept to our mental, emotional and spiritual sense of being. As they are pretty much the holy trinity. Think of it like this, being faced with your triggers helps you dig deep inside find your "ugly parts" and work on healing them and approaching yourself and others with more gentleness! You don't deserve to have to keep reliving your trauma nor should you felt misunderstood. I LOVE YOU ABUNDANTLY!!
