As a Black Muslim sister, who for a majority of her life did not cover her hair, I understand the struggles and pressure those who do not cover their hair face from both the Muslim and non-Muslim community. I am sick and tired of others labeling those who don’t cover their hair “less of a Muslim“ just because they choose not to cover their hair.

Everyday being told to "calm down " or being asked " why are you so angry" because we are black and want our voices to be heard . Yet we are portrayed as submissive because we chose to wear an hijab and the ignorance of people. I am just as tired as you are sis.

This podcast is an amazing discussion with my wonderful guest as she discusses what it means to her to be a Black Muslim Woman. We also discuss what we love most about being Black Muslim women alongside the challenges and struggles we have faced with both identities.
