Discursos da Fotografia Contemporânea

Nesta pós-graduação, através de seminários em que artistas convidados farão a análise e discussão das suas obras e práticas artísticas, encontrar-se-ão ressonâncias nos principais discursos da produção fotográfica contemporânea. A par, decorrerão seminários de reflexão e contextualização histórica e teórica destes discursos, permitindo a fundamentação e enquadramento do trabalho autoral a desenvolver pelos alunos. Cada artista convidado selecionará um leque de projetos a orientar, ao longo do ano, devidamente suportados por um módulo técnico que acompanha os vários estágios, desde a captura em vários formatos, a produção em laboratório analógico e digital. Os projetos elaborados serão objeto de exposição final.

Contemporary Photography Speeches

In this postgraduate course, through seminars in which invited artists will analyze and discuss their works and artistic practices, resonances will be found in the main discourses of contemporary photographic production. At the same time, seminars will be held for reflection and historical and theoretical contextualization of these discourses, allowing for the foundation and framing of the authorial work to be developed by the students. Each guest artist will select a range of projects to guide throughout the year, duly supported by a technical module that accompanies the various stages, from capture in multiple formats, to analogue and digital laboratory production. The elaborated projects will be the object of a final exhibition.

Digital Experience Design

Esta pós-graduação é orientada para profissionais de design que se pretendam focar no desenvolvimento de produtos e serviços digitais inovadores em contextos interdisciplinares. A pós-graduação procura capacitar os alunos para o desenvolvimento estratégico e sistemático destes ecossistemas digitais e dos seus vários pontos de contacto, a partir do mapeamento das necessidades dos utilizadores e dos objetivos do negócio. Os projetos são desenvolvidos com recurso a processos iterativos e metodologias ágeis, caracterizados por fases de descoberta, definição, desenvolvimento e entrega. A pós-graduação e os seus alumni têm obtido um sólido reconhecimento e notoriedade junto da indústria, especialmente a de base tecnológica, o que tem potenciado pleno emprego, salários acima da média e o desenvolvimento estratégico de parcerias empresariais.

Digital Experience Design

This postgraduate course is aimed at design professionals who want to focus in the development of cutting‑edge digital products and services in interdisciplinary contexts. The course seeks to empower students for the strategic and systematic development of these digital ecosystems and their various touchpoints, based on the mapping of user needs and business objectives. The projects are developed using iterative processes and agile methodologies, characterized by discovery, definition, development and delivery phases. The course and its alumni have earned a solid recognition and notoriety among the industry, especially the tech-based, which has promoted full employment, above-average salaries and the strategic development of business partnerships.

Design de Serviços para Negócios Sustentáveis

Esta pós-graduação visa alinhar modelos de negócios centrados nas pessoas com recurso à inovação e às ferramentas de design. Considerando o atual contexto global de transformação assente no desenvolvimento sustentável, reveste-se da maior importância contemplar os objetivos do desenvolvimento sustentável nomeadamente no que se refere aos impactos nas políticas e estratégias para os sectores público, privado e sociedade civil. O design de serviços é um sector crescente em oportunidade de negócios que requerem soluções com preocupação socioambientais. Esta pós-graduação conjuga o potencial do design, da Faculdade de Belas-Artes, e das ciências económicas, do instituito Superior de Economia e Gestão, ambos da Universidade de Lisboa. A área de conhecimento em design tem tido um grande incremento, em boa parte promovida pela necessidade de inovação, que recorre a novas ferramentas específicas, métodos de design e dinâmicas colaborativas e participativas. A aproximação do design às ciências económicas surge pela necessidade de contemplar a gestão de negócios, ao nível da criação de estratégias e da promoção do empreendedorismo.

Service Design for Sustainable Business

This postgraduate course aims to align business models centered on people with the use of design tools and innovation. Considering the current global context of transformation based on sustainable development, it is extremely important to incorporate the sustainable development goals in particular with regard to their impact on public and private sector policies and strategies. Services, on the one hand, are a growing sector in business opportunities, on the other hand, they require solutions with socio-environmental concerns. This course arises from the combination of the potential of design, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, and economic sciences, through ISEG. The design knowledge, has undergone a great increase, largely by the need for innovation, design new specific tools, design methods and collaborative and participatory dynamics. The design approach to economic sciences arises from the need to contemplate business management, at the level of creating strategies and promoting entrepreneurship.

Design Circular: modos culturais, sistémicos e materiais

Esta pós-graduação assenta numa visão holística ancorada na associação entre economia circular e cultura do design. Através do envolvimento de distintas vocações na exploração de vias promotoras de novas atitudes e de novas realizações materiais, propõe-se um caminho que favoreça a transição para o modelo económico-industrial circular. Trata-se de uma abordagem pelo design (design-led) que convoca uma aproximação interdisciplinar onde convergem perspetivas de diferentes campos de conhecimento que visam a elaboração de conceitos diferenciados adaptados a sistemas regenerativos. Na ação promove-se o pensar reflexivo sobre a temática circular, o qual é articulado com uma aproximação hands-on caracterizada pela exploração prática das potencialidades da matéria cerâmica e pela deteção de possibilidades técnicas no quadro da circularidade da matéria. O sector da cerâmica de mesa é selecionado como motor de aproximação ao duplo objetivo da formação: inovação na conceção de produtos e produção de conteúdos multimédia e digitais destinados a uma divulgação alargada, tendo em vista a mudança positiva de paradigma, quer junto dos cidadãos, quer dos diferentes profissionais envolvidos no sistema.

Circular design: cultural, systemic and material modes

This postgraduate course is based on a holistic vision anchored in the association between circular economy and design culture. The study proposes the involvement of diferent vocations in exploring ways to promote new attitudes and new material achievements that will favour the transition to the circular economic-industrial model. It is a design-led approach that asks for an interdisciplinar space where perspectives from diferent fields of knowledge converge while aiming at the elaboration of differentiated concepts tuned to regenerative systems. The action promotes reflective thinking about the circular theme combined with a hands-on approach defined by the practical exploration of the potential of ceramic material and by the identification of technical possibilities within the framework of the material’s circularity. The tableware sector is selected as a driving force for approaching the dual objective of the course: contribution to innovation in product design and production of multimedia and digital materials for wide dissemination, with a view to leading to a positive change of paradigm, both among citizens and professionals working in the system.

Azulejo e Cerâmica: Produção, História, Confluências, Coleções, Exposições e Conservação

Esta pós-graduação centra-se no azulejo, uma arte com grande tradição em Portugal. Pretende-se percorrer um itinerário sobre o azulejo que se inicia pelos seus processos de produção. Num momento seguinte, estuda-se a origem do azulejo, desde os momentos mais recuados, em diferentes civilizações. Analisa-se ainda o azulejo como uma arte de confluências, porque cada cultura deu e recebeu contributos, nas questões tecnológicas, estéticas, de utilização e de aplicação. O azulejo em Portugal resultou de outras tradições, mas criou a sua própria linguagem. Houve uma necessidade social que acolheu o azulejo como uma arte essencial nos espaços arquitetónicos portugueses. O gosto pelos azulejos levou ao colecionismo, contribuindo para a criação de alguns museus de referência em Portugal, a nível internacional. Atualmente, o azulejo é uma arte que continua entre a tradição, associado à necessidade de conservação e preservação do espólio existente, e as inovações artísticas e tecnológicas.

Tile and Ceramics: Production, history, confluences, collections, exhibitions and conservation

This postgraduate course centers on azulejo (portuguese word for tile), an art with a great tradition in Portugal. It is intended to walk an itinerary on the tile starting with its production processes. In a subsequent moment, the origin of the tile is studied, from the most remote moments, in different civilizations. The tile is analyzed as an art of confluences, because each culture has given and received contributions in terms of technology, aesthetics, use and application. The tile in Portugal resulted from other traditions, but created its own language. There was a social need that embraced tile as an essential art in Portuguese architectural spaces. The taste for azulejos led to collecting, contributing to the creation of some internationally renowned museums in Portugal. Today, tile is an art that continues between tradition, associated with the need for conservation and preservation of existing assets, and artistic and technological innovations.

Artes Sonoras: Práticas e tecnologias de criação

Esta pós-graduação visa prover uma especialização na área da criação sonora, incidindo na integração de som em projetos sonoros multimédia. Incide sobretudo na integração e compreensão de ferramentas do ponto de vista das práticas artísticas e sua operacionalização. A formação estrutura-se em torno de seminários decorrendo ao longo de um semestre e organizados segundo três eixos principais: 1) Integração e exploração de fundamentos avançados de criação sonora e musical, 2) Estudos de caso, 3) Laboratório — exploração, aprofundamento e aplicação em projetos de diferentes dimensões das técnicas e tecnologias abordadas ao longo da formação. Os tópicos abordados incluem, para além do estudo e o exercício de práticas de escuta, a exploração e a compreensão de diversas ferramentas de edição e programação, tais como software de programação sonora e musical, middleware e a exploração de componentes e bibliotecas de tratamentos sonoros em aplicações audiovisuais e multimédia. Será também dada particular atenção a técnicas de captação e registo áudio.

Sound Arts: Creation practices and technologies

This postgraduate course aims to provide a specialisation in the area of sound creation, focusing on the integration of sound in multimedia sound projects. It focuses mainly on the integration and understanding of tools from the point of view of artistic practices and their operationalisation. The training is structured around seminars taking place over one semester and organized along three main axes: 1) Integration and exploration of advanced foundations of sound and music creation, 2) Case studies, 3) Laboratory — exploration, deepening and application in projects of different dimensions of the techniques and technologies covered throughout the training. The topics covered include, besides the study and exercise of listening practices, the exploration and understanding of various editing and programming tools, such as sound and music programming software, middleware and the exploration of components and libraries of sound treatments in audiovisual and multimedia applications. Particular attention will also be given to audio recording techniques.

Arte e Natureza

Esta pós-graduação tem como pressupostos transversais a análise e compreensão das relações entre os espaços e as formas que os compõem. Terá como referência direta e objeto de estudo o espaço natural da Serra da Gardunha. Para compreender as ligações entre arte e natureza, reflete-se sobre os conceitos de lugar, pertença, identidade e relação. Todos são também espaços, formas e matérias que se integram e interagem como um sistema. Uma compreensão plena dos espaços e das formas num sentido unitário que também se caracteriza pela diversidade sazonal. Os alunos têm a oportunidade de vivenciar e compreender as peculiaridades e idiossincrasias dos espaços naturais de trabalho em quatro residências de pesquisa artística que se fundem com eles. Assim, teremos as residências de investigação artística de outono, inverno, primavera e verão. Experiências diretas de leituras fenomenológicas de espaços naturais e das formas que os integram, através de abordagens práticas e teóricas, artísticas, científicas e transdisciplinares. Pretende-se compreender a dimensão do significado da paisagem. Explorar, apropriar-se e intervir na e com a paisagem.

Art and nature

This postgraduate course has as transversal presuppositions the analysis and understanding of the relations between spaces and the forms that compose them. It will take as direct reference and object of study the natural space of the Serra da Gardunha. In order to understand the links between art and nature, one reflects on the concepts of place, belonging, identity and relationship. All these are also spaces, forms and materials that integrate and interact as a system. A full understanding of the spaces and the forms in a unitary sense that is also characterized by seasonal diversity. Students are offered the opportunity to experience and understand the peculiarities and idiosyncrasies of natural working spaces in four artistic research residencies that merge with them. Thus, we will have the artistic research residencies of Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. Direct experiences of phenomenological readings of natural spaces and the forms that integrate them, through practical and theoretical, artistic, scientific and transdisciplinary approaches. It is intended to understand the dimension of the meaning of landscape. To explore, to appropriate and to intervene in and with the landscape.

Art’Ásia: Análises artísticas, sociais e científicas para trabalhar a Ásia no século XXI

Esta pós-graduação tem como objetivo aumentar e atualizar conhecimentos para treinar e orientar especialistas e interessados sobre a cultura e características artísticas da Ásia — especialmente aquelas com relações históricas e atuais com Portugal e com a União Europeia. Sendo o séc. XXI considerado o ‘Século da Ásia’, é importante especializar profissionais, capazes de identificar e analisar objetos artísticos e de encetar diálogos harmoniosos para estabelecer parcerias estáveis e intercâmbios frutíferos com a Ásia. Tendo o português e o inglês como línguas de trabalho e aquisição de conhecimentos teórico-práticos, a pós-graduação conta com diversos oradores de excelência (inter)nacional e em estreito contacto com as mais conceituadas instituições nacionais. Esta imersão proporcionará aos participantes um treino aprofundado e realista que permitirá a continuação de pesquisas.

Art’Asia: Artistic, social and scientific analyses to work Asia in the 21st century

This postgraduate course aims to increase and update knowledge, to train and guide specialists and interested individuals about the cultural and artistic features of Asia — especially those with historical and current relations with Portugal and with the European Union. As the 21st century is considered the ‘Asian century’, it is important to specialize professionals, capable of identifying and analyzing artistic objects and apt to engage in harmonious dialogues to establish stable partnerships and fruitful exchanges with Asia. With Portuguese and English as work languages and knowledge acquisition both theoretical and practical, it features several speakers of (inter)national excellence and in close contact with the most prestigious national institutions. This immersion will provide the attendees with an in-depth and realistic training which will enable continued research.
