Jared is back to join Jeff and Pat for a new episode. Our resident Spider-Man experts weigh in on the fun-filled animated film, Into the Spider-Verse... Jeff was not one of those experts.
It was Jeff's turn to miss the recording this time, so Pat is enlisting the help of his sister, Karen, to fill in for this week's episode. This week they're talking about the new Netflix release, Red Notice: a very glossy, expensive film filled with incredible star power and not much else. The movie Red Notice - unlike our podcast - has been brought to you by Aviation Gin!
Pat couldn't make it to this week's recording, so Jeff is taking on a solo review of the 1989 film Glory, an incredible movie that touches on key social issues, stigmas, and the historical clashing of social and military hierarchies that were rampant during the Civil War in America.
Jeff and Pat talk about putting up Christmas decorations while drunk on eggnog and rum, and they react to the trailer for Home Sweet Home Alone.
This week Jeff and Pat finally get around to reviewing Sergio Leone's spaghetti western, A Fistful of Dollars. The film has the distinction of being the first of its genre and paving the way for foreign filmmakers to get a foot in the door in Hollywood, and it achieves all this despite a minimalist plot, an incredibly low budget, and a complete lack of train robberies.
After recording an episode on the confusing mess that is David Lynch's Dune, Pat and Jeff talk about some better book-to-movie adaptions, including The Lord of the Rings, and Jurassic Park.
Everyone grab your cheat sheets, because this week, Jeff and Pat talk about the 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune. Come listen as they scratch their heads and try to follow along with a bloated, overstuffed nonsensical space opera that somehow manages to capture none of the fun of space operas.
Jeff and Pat are joined by friend and fellow Twitch legend, Shannon (also known as TreeFrogWriter). This week, they're talking about the incredibly disturbing horror film disguised as a comedy-drama, The Truman Show.
If you'd like to see more of Shannon, you can find her on her personal twitch channel, twitch.tv/treefrogwriter
You can also see her on her show Behind the Pixels streaming on twitch.tv/omnipixelgaming
Jeff and Pat talk about the Cola Wars, knock-off breakfast cereals, and how to sneak into a Wiggles concert. Also, Franklin the turtle gets put on blast for being neither a mutant, a ninja, or a teenager.
Jeff and Pat are continuing the Halloween spookiness this week, talking about Stanley Kubrick's suspenseful thriller/horror film, The Shining. They discuss King's critical reception of Kubrick's take on his book, as well as some of the movie's alleged "hidden symbols", and its suspicious lack of Native American ghosts.
