The gender gap in technology starts at school and carries on through every stage of girls’ and women’s lives.
In 2021, only 18.2%* of all people working in #IT are #women in #Belgium. How can we see beyond the #gender gap and #sensitize women about the digital #opportunities in the #Tech industry?
This mission isn’t so simple. Women remain #underrepresented at every level in the #corporate #talent pipeline and there is still so much room for #growth. But part of the #challenge is also to #change the #perception of what a #career in technology offers.
This is why, at Digitalcity.brussels we try to give the voice to women #leaders that are inspirational so their #stories can resonate among others.
In this episode, we have interviewed Katrien Herdewyn - founder and #CEO of Elegnano®. She started her own company Elegnano® to bring her two passions in life together – technology and #footwear. Besides, she helps other #companies to connect #design with nanotechnology. Katrien has received several #awards and #recognitions for her work - including #Startup of the Year, Belgium’s 40 under 40. She is also an honorary #professor in the faculty of engineering at #KULeuven.
