In difficult times and periods of prolonged waiting, it is easy to feel like God is distant or that He is withholding what we are believing for from us because of something we have done wrong. Remember, whatever you are going through does not determine God’s position towards you. In the last podcast, titled The Seed of Doubt, we focused on how the enemy uses doubt as a tool and how, if unchecked, it can have negative effects.
Today, in light of God's word, we will be discussing the feeling of unworthiness—that sense of never being enough.
John 3:17 MSG: God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.
In this episode, we'll be looking at how to overcome doubt.
Don't let the odds of any situation keep you from trusting God. When you find yourself blindsided by overwhelming odds, find out what God's position on the matter is and hold on to it.
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. Philippians 4:8 AMP
Be confident God hears your prayers, and He responds to those prayers according to His will.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6 NKJV
Knowing that God is with you and will help you in any situation should leave no room for doubt, fear, anxiety, or worry in your life. Have full confidence in God's protection and provision.
No matter the challenge you may be facing on your journey to fertility, you can be sure that Jesus fully understands and empathizes with you. He will come through for you. Continue to express your faith in him and never stop trusting him.
Romans 8:28 AMP - And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
Quit striving to gain the promises of God in the flesh; trust God completely.
The invitation to enter His rest is still valid; all you need to do is believe.
Hebrews 4:2 NLT - For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.
Here is God’s remarkable promise to all who trust in him: “I will not forget you.”
Isaiah 46:16 The Voice- Look here. I have made you a part of Me, written you on the palms of My hands. Your city walls are always on My mind, always My concern.
It is easy to think we’ve been forsaken and, at other times, that we are unworthy of what we are believing for once we experience delay, regardless of what we know God has promised us.
By all outward appearances, Abraham and Sarah's case seemed impossible. They both, at different times, laughed at God's promise to them. God is not only interested in the outcome; he is much more interested in our journey, and who we become. The account we read of them in the verses below shows us how far they had come from where they started.
Romans 4: 18-20 [VOICE]- Against the odds, Abraham’s hope grew into full-fledged faith that he would turn out to be the father of many nations, just as God had promised when He said, “That’s how many your descendants will be.”[a] His faith did not fail, although he was well aware that his impotent body, after nearly 100 years, was as good as dead and that Sarah’s womb, too, was dead. In spite of all this, his faith in God’s promise did not falter. In fact, his faith grew as he gave glory to God
Hebrews 11:11 [VOICE]- By faith Abraham’s wife Sarah became fertile long after menopause because she believed God would be faithful to His promise.
You have a choice; will you take hold of all that is available?
And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. 2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP
Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need! Psalm 23:1 TLB
We are not only to speak from a position of belief, but we are also to receive from there.
Mark 11:23-24 NKJV- For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
