Spiritual Vision is the gift of sight that outruns what the natural eyes can confirm. In 2 Kings 6:17, Elisha prays that his servant's eyes be opened, and the young man sees the mountain already surrounded by horses and chariots of fire -- the battle was never in doubt, only unseen. Paul echoes this in Ephesians 1:15-18, praying that the eyes of the Corinthians believers' understanding would be enlightened, so they could grasp the hope of their calling and the riches of their inheritance. 2 Corinthians 5:7 names the discipline this vision requires: "we walk by faith, not by sight" -- trusting God's revealed truth even when circumstances offer no visible proof. Together these teach that the call of beliver's are to pray for opened eyes, to hold onto the hope and to walk daily on the strength of what God has spoken rather than what the moment reveals.
