Red Couch Rebels

Believing in Others and Uplifting their Dreams w/ Laurice Snyder, Part 1

Listen Later

On this episode, we loved exploring Laurice Snyder's rebel story, starting from childhood experiences of challenging societal norms and expectations. Laurice shares a memory of questioning why someone assumed her white mother was her grandmother because of their different skin colors. This sparked her early awareness of social injustice and the importance of using her voice. We also discuss her mother's influence in instilling strength, independence, and the belief that their voices matter – as well as how becoming a mother herself further strengthened her inner rebel and led her to seek out a community of supportive women during her pregnancies and childbirth experiences. Be it birthing children or one's dream(s), we explore trusting oneself and advocating for one's needs, while also believing in others and uplifting their dreams. Who we surround ourself with can make all the difference! More to come on Laurice's passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in Part 2, but don't miss this one!
