Ben Liebmann, COO, restaurant noma is my guest on the Nordic Future Makers podcast this week. noma is the four-time winner of the S. Pellegrino World's Best Restaurant, founded by trailblazing and critically-acclaimed head chef Rene Redzepi. It was opened in 2013 and is located in the Copenhagen neighbourhood of Christiania. The multiple Michelin starred restaurant is recognised globally for its reinvention and interpretation of Nordic cuisine.

In this podcast Ben tells of his global career journey that has seen him go from music to telecoms to TV to noma. He then speaks eloquently about developing brands and multi-channel businesses and of balancing creativity and commerciality, referencing his experiences with Idol and Masterchef before going into detail around his current role and the business of restaurant noma.

At the end of this podcast we talk about the effects of covid19 and plans for the future. When this episode was recorded (early May 2020) it was unclear what was going to happen, but it has since been announced that restrictions in Denmark will be relaxed slightly and on 21st May 2020 restaurant noma will begin the process of re-opening, initially opening as an outdoor wine bar (more info on the noma website!)
