Steve has spent more than 28 years in local government, managing various projects in the fields of Community Development, Redevelopment, Affordable Housing, Neighborhood Preservation and Economic Development in various cities in California and Virginia. 

Steve was elected to the Benicia City Council in November 2016 and elected to Mayor in November 2022.
