BIG QUESTIONS TO ASK:
Does my suffering always NEED an explanation?
Is God JUST? If so, why do “good people” suffer?
Will I be FAITHFUL even when it doesn’t make sense?
Things to consider as you listen:
Be careful what you say to someone who is suffering.
Emotions don’t disrupt our relationship with God. They deepen it.
The key is this: Job stayed in the conversation.
False Assumption:
Wise & Good = Success/Rewards
Evil & Ignorant = Disaster/Punishment
Our view of the world is limited, therefore, we simply cannot fully see the “big picture”.
While our view is limited, God has his eyes on everything-everywhere-all the time.
Our questions & suffering are really an invitation to move closer to God & trust him.
