John had one person in his gospel - to guide people to a belief in Jesus. He starts in chapter one stating that John the Baptist was sent so -that all might believe through him- and he concludes in chapter twenty with -these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ.- All of the miracles and the narratives that John includes are an attempt to bring the reader to the decision to either believe or not believe. There are only two choices and only two consequences. Believe that you may have life in His name.
