I'd like you to open your Bibles along with me to Leviticus chapter 26. And I do have a few announcements I want to make right off though. And there is a sign up sheet out in the foyer actually a couple and one is for the women's cookie exchange, which is going to be the 19th and Nicki Thomas's house. And so if you ladies would like to sign up, it's a great time I understand. And for you guys, this is a great time when the ladies come home because they have cookies that everyone made, it's just absolutely fantastic. And also, this Monday was the adult dinner night out and it's going to be at feetoes is the old Rico's feetoes Rico's, and it's on bridge street, and I really encourage you to come. It's a great time to get to know other people in the church is super time of fellowship, and good Italian food. So anyway, I mean, I encourage you to sign up for that because I have to call in and make reservations. And also next week is our church session. That's another wonderful time to get to know people in the fellowship. You know, it's a dish to pass an old fashioned covered this dinner we meet downstairs, it's awesome.

And also just reminded that will be having a Christmas Eve service at six. It's an old fashioned one we just, you know, praise God and talk about why he came and sing Christmas him. So we encourage you to come to that as well. And so now, let's go to the Lord in prayer.

Father, we come before you and Jesus Yu Shu, his name and how thankful we are the through him, and by him and to Him, we are able to sing praises and to receive blessing and to also have assurance of salvation of eternal life. So now, Father, come and Minister your word to each one of us, that it might speak to our heart and soul, that we might be encouraged in all your ways and strengthened in our faith. And Father, I pray that nothing that I share would be of my own words, but would be yours that you give me. Now, Father, come 19 Use me to minister to these your precious people I pray in Jesus name, Amen. And Amen.

You know, it's amazing to me how lightly many people take the Bible, the Word of God. This is absolutely the most amazing book you'll ever studied, you'll ever study. I mean, I went through a number of years of college, studied all kinds of textbooks and courses, nothing equals this. As a matter of fact, if you really want to find truth, you're going to find it here. And the Scripture tells us if you know the truth, the truth will set you free from what sin and death but not only sin and death in the life to come, but it also sets us free from having to perform like monkeys on a string to this world. We enter this world has very definite ways that it wants us to behave and to do and to not do and, and we're free in Christ. I mean, all you have to do is just watch the news and you realize the bondage of this world. But in Jesus Christ, we're free. We have an assurance that is out of this world. It's absolutely awesome. You know, one of the things I would encourage you to do as well as you study your, you know, scripture on your own as you study the Bible on your own, mark your Bible up. Don't be afraid to do that. You know, it's not like, Oh, yeah, I can't do that. This is a book that has the word of God in it. But the book itself, it's not holy, but what's in it, the Word of God is holy and righteous and true, but underlying things and make notes in the side because there's so many things you can find.

Good morning, everybody. Glad to see you here this morning. Are you all thawed out? Oh my goodness. Well, we are in Leviticus still almost done. Then we're going to get to numbers. When we go to numbers. Pastor you sure we're supposed to go through the Bible verse by verse? You know what the Lord's got some blessings in numbers, man. I mean, not in some parts of it, but you know, I love the Bible, and parts of the Bible. I love it. Maybe this is just me because I'm disturbed a little bit but parts of the Bible to me reflects life. You know, I once heard a pastor say that Jesus Christ was super being natural. And a lot of times you know, I think the word reflects that we are a people who are always looking for an experience. are always looking for some sort of fulfillment. And a lot of times it's coming from a place within our flesh. And I think that God goes out of his way sometimes to put us into the humdrum, the humdrum of life or the humdrum of it to give us an opportunity to practice being faithful, to practice being faithful, you know, what makes what makes a successful marriage, being faithful, every single day, day after day for 1000 years. That's it. That's it, you know, it's not like, Listen, if you start doing these things, you start doing these these things and you start treating each other right in marriage tomorrow, your relationships going to be perfect. That is not the way that it works. It's a body of work. It is a body of work. And it is over an expanse of time of putting in the work and doing the things that God has told us to do that then 10 years later, 15 years later, we stand back ago. Wow, amazing. God is so faithful. And you realize that it's I think of Noah building the ark for 100 years. Hello. You read through that and you just go yeah and no of it. Wait a minute, wait a minute 100 years. I don't even like boats that much. You know what I'm saying? Like, it is like, it wasn't like a like a like a ski boat. There was nothing fun happening as a result of him building that boat. God's promise was going to be fulfilled, but it's going to be judgment, devastation. 100 years, the Bible says no was a preacher of righteousness. People say why are you building that boat you insane person? Well, God's gonna send judgment. You see what I told her Margaret. He's an insane person. And year after year, day after day, and it took all that time. But then when God's word was fulfilled, and they were on the boat, right, as much as that couldn't have been fun. But the alternative, right? To go, Wow, God is faithful. God does honor his word above his name, just like the scripture says. If God says something, he's going to do it, he's going to reform it. He's going to bring it to pass. And oh, let me let me do some announcements. Sorry. I gotta stop the vibe here real quick and do some announcements. There is a sign up sheet out there ladies for the cookie exchange. That's going to be December 19. At my house. I will be in the basement. lurking in the basement. I say gone. Where's the cookies? And let's see this Monday. Tomorrow is our adult dinner night out at vidoes for one of vetoes. I don't know where that is, is an upper Street. The new the new place, okay. That's tomorrow night. If you've never been to an adult dinner night out, come join us. It's super fun. We have a blast. It really is. I'm not just saying that. It really is a great time. We have a great time. There's a sign of out there. And next week is our church. Our church supper. That's next Sunday is communion Sunday.

All right. I'm glad you guys are here. On this Thanksgiving weekend. That's you're all up, right? That was like full on food coma The next day, you know, like, hey, how come I feel so bad? Well, chubs; that's my wife whenever that second voice comes in, that's always Nikki's like Jiminy Cricket. To me, you know what I'm saying? I'll be asking myself a stupid question, and then she'll give me the answer. And usually, I don't know why it's always well, chubs I don't know why it has to be that way. But I don't know.

We are in the book of Leviticus chapter 25. Leviticus chapter 25. And we're going to move down through verse 21. I think or 24 Leviticus chapter 25 let's cover it in prayer first. Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus name Lord, and, Lord, this is your word. And it's what you have put into our hands, father to study that we might know you. So we asked Lord God, that your Holy Spirit would be in this place and he would be present father, to dictate it to us, Lord, and to translate it for us Father, I pray, Father, that you would overcome any thing that I might say, Lord, that isn't exactly what you have for your people today, Lord, and that you would speak directly into each person's heart today and and that you would show them a piece of yourself Lord say that they would be see you revealed in their lives and in their hearts today, Lord, and you would speak right into the innermost places of their hearts and their being Lord where no one else goes and the things in their hearts and their minds that only they know father and I pray that you would speak to them there in that place that they might know that it's your voice, Lord, and that you might draw them closer to yourself today, Father, if they're far from from you, and if they're walking with you, father and walking in the light, I pray, Lord, that You would draw them closer. Lord, where we the closest we can ever get in this life Lord is still miles and miles away from glory. Father, but we want to draw near to you as much as we possibly can. We want to know you, Father, and we want to see your heart reveal to our own Lord so that we can be useful in this day and age that we live in father, so equip us today and have your way in Jesus name, amen. Amen.

Leviticus chapter 25. And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai saying, speak to the children of Israel and say to them, when you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a Sabbath to the Lord. Six years you shall sow your field and six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather his fruit. But in the seventh year, there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither so your field nor prune your vineyard. What grows of its own accord of your harvest, you shall not reap nor gather the grapes of your untended vine, for it is a year of rest for the land. And the Sabbath produce of the land shall be food for you. For you, your male and female servants your hired men, and the stranger who dwells with you, for your livestock, and the beasts that are in your land, all its produce shall be for food, and you shall count seven SAVVIS of yours for yourself seven times seven years, and the end the time of the seven Sabbath's of yours shall be to you 49 years, then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the 10th day of the seventh month on the Day of Atonement. You shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. You shall consecrate the 50th year and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants.

A few announcements. We have the adult dinner night out, and also a cookie exchange women's cookie exchange it Mickey Thomas is my daughter in law's house. And there's a signup sheet out in the foyer. If you just put your name down, that would be great if you'd like to attend that. And I think that's all the announcements that I I have to make right? I usually looking fine. She tells me if I'm yes, no, but she's homesick she's she came down with something yesterday. And so far, we haven't shared it, which I'm thankful for.

Okay, let's pray. Father, we come before you in Jesus name and we thank you so much for who you are. For the love that you so showed on this world you bestowed love and the incarnation of your son Jesus Christ, that anyone who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. What a blessing. We thank You, Father for that promise and for that hope. And Lord, I asked you what anointing you Use me to minister your word, your truth to these your people, that they might be encouraged in all your ways, and help us father to go through your word in such a way that we allow it to speak to our most inner man. And I pray this in Jesus name, Amen. And Amen.

You know, we live in a sick world. Did you know that? We really do and it gets sicker with time. I was driving somewhere yesterday. And the reason I say somewhere is I don't remember where it was, but I was going somewhere. And probably a lot of you know that there's one channel this time of year that plays only Christmas music. And so I had that on, and I'm listening to it and and then this advertisement comes on. I'm just trying to show you how weird our world has gotten. This advertisement comes on. And this is a woman with a very smooth, you know, soothing voice, and she's saying, you have the perfect marriage. You have kids You have a home. But through time you and your spouse have drifted apart. And the thought of spending another Christmas together is devastating. And so if you contact the law firm of blah, blah, blah, we can work out a quick, an amicable divorce. I thinking, What? Very Christmas? Wow, this is the kind of world we live in. And the next song was Joy to the world. But the point I'm getting it, where have we come to. And the only reason that our world in our society has decayed to the level that it has, is because we don't take the Word of God seriously enough. This is the word of God, the logos, the Word of God to man. And God gave us his word for no other reason. Then he loves us. And he desires to show us the way that we should walk because understand In this as we have seen our world reject, you know, biblical theology. And the way a person should live according to scriptures, the world has rejected that it's done nothing but decay, right? Send nothing but decay. And some of you probably know that there was a shooting at destiny. And I didn't know the whole thing behind it, some guy got shot in the leg or something like that. And, and they had to, you know, evacuated with people from our church kids that were there, they had to be locked in the stores and that kind of thing.

And so anyway, the the chief of polices and I criticized him, but he's, he's making a statement. You know, we can't let a couple crazies you know, ruin our Christmas. And the whole point was don't stop coming to the mall. I mean, really, if you think about it, that's what they're saying. And the point I'm getting at is our world has become more more debase and Sometimes I think even in the church, we wonder why, why? It's because they've rejected the Word of God. And so you and I, as believers, it's not our responsibility to make everyone a Christian. It's our responsibility to share the truth of Christianity.

There will be no Wednesday service this week because of Thanksgiving. And so just to remind you, so you don't show up and nobody's here. And also, this is the last week for the collection of the Christmas Child boxes. And so they're going to be collected out in the four year, and they'll be taken and then shipped out all over the world to two children. And so if you have a box, make sure that you bring it in. And open your Bibles along with me to Leviticus 24. Father, we can be for you in Jesus name. And we thank You for Your Word and for your truth and the way you are able to speak to us and just magnificent ways. Because it's not our ideas. It's not our purpose. It's not our direction, but it's yours. We have to be seeking after with all our heart, and it's your word that truly is a lamp unto our feet, and a light to our path. And so we pray, Father, that your word your word would always lead us along the way of righteousness, and that we would walk and seek after you with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength, for no other reason, than to then our desire to see people saved and come into the kingdom of God. And I give You thanks in Jesus name, amen, and amen. You know, one of the things I wanted to share, and the Lord kind of put this on my heart to share, I wasn't sure whether I was going to Georgia or not. But, you know, every time I stand behind the pulpit to preach, I get nervous. Because I had such a fear of speaking in front of people. As a matter of fact, when I was a child in school, and a teacher would call on me, I would just sit there and tears would come down my eyes because I couldn't talk. And the reason was, is that I had a severe learning disability. I couldn't read until I was in eighth grade. In fact, I was always good at math, but I couldn't read until I was in eighth grade. And so obviously, for instance, spelling was down the tube I never had get like a 10 or five on a spelling test. So I used to bring my spelling workbook calm. This is years ago, and they'd let me bring it home for a weekend. And my mother would write out and copy the entire spelling book, so that she could go over the spelling words with me. And that's the only reason I ever got through through spelling. But back in those days, remember, they used to go around the class, and each child would read a chapter or a paragraph, and then they'd go to the next child. Whenever it would come to me, I would just sit there, and just tears coming down my face because I couldn't read. And the reason I'm sharing this is to show the faithfulness of God because when I was 10 years old, I made a promise to God. And I said, Lord, if you heal me, I promise I'll grow up and be a pastor, be a minister. And he healed me. I had a miraculous healing at 10 years old, and I never forgot that. But then his wife for nine I really thought this assessment of me becoming a pastor was impossible. Because, you know, to use a generic slang term, I really thought I was dumb. I mean, I really did.But God is always faithful. And so he was able to take me having no idea how I would fulfill this calling. And take me through college and graduate school and Postgraduate School and, and, and I just praise God for it. But nevertheless, to this day, every time I stand up in front of people, I have those butterflies. Because after all these years, those memories come back. And you might be thinking, why is he sharing all that? Because I think it relates to what we're going to be looking at this morning. And that is that everything in God's word is to speak to us is to encourage us and to show us his faithfulness, and that he is able to do things, even if it seems impossible to be done. You know what I'm saying? I mean, the very fact that I'm Standing here is your pastor is a miracle. It's a total miracle of God.

Lord willing we are going to soldier through this morning. We are going to be trying to finish up Leviticus chapter 23. You know, the the New Testament is all and I'm not trying to like marginalize the New Testament or anything like that, but it's low hanging fruit. I love low hanging fruit, right? I'm not the hardest worker. Right? When I go to the apple orchard Do you need a ladder? No. I don't need a ladder. I'll be picking most of my family's apples up right off the ground sir. I don't want to be bothered. And I love the New Testament because it is such instant it's for me it's like instant gratification. You know, you can just start reading any book in the New Testament just be like, like instantly like oh, yeah, wow. Yeah. And and the Old Testament. A little different, isn't it? You gotta dig in the in the Old Testament and and you have to be purposeful in your in your studies the Old Testament obviously some of the some of the the funner books you know Ruth and Genesis is the story after story and it's, it's very it's very entertaining but man there's a lot of depth there's a lot of truth in some of what we would call the boring books and the slow moving books and Leviticus is no different. I've really been enjoying it. Going through Leviticus with you guys and with dad and let's let's start with a word of prayer though before we get started this morning. Thank you, Father, for your word. And thank you, father for showing us Jesus Christ Lord through the laws through the commandments that you gave Moses father's as a tabernacle worship, the feasts and, and all the things, Lord that you gave is a picture of what was going to be accomplished through Jesus Christ or what you had in store for us, Lord, we're so thankful. We're so grateful for that. Lord and we asked father, she would help us to take hope and enjoy in these things, Lord and to bury them deep in our hearts, Lord, in a place where nobody no one nothing can ever go near touch, Lord, and that we can we can live in that state Lord in you. Help us to have our faith, Lord, the things that we believe bolstered and shored up and strengthened by what we read from the Old Testament Lord, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.You know, it's one of the things I'm always contemplating and thinking about when I'm reading through the Old Testament is that this is a Jewish book. This this is a Jewish book, this belongs to the Jewish people. They still keep most of these Sabbath's and feast days. They still practice them, and they have absolutely no idea what you and I know. It reminds me of the fact that when when when the word is talking about that those from the old the Prophet It's old, you know, they, they, they didn't fully understand the things that they were writing down the things that they were being told, they didn't fully understand it. And yet they were faithful to God to write it down and believed him. You know, that's one of the amazing, amazing things to me is all these things that God is given to Moses. And and of course Moses, you know, wrote it, so maybe he left it out. But you never hear Moses say, why, why, why? why I don't get it, Lord, I don't get it. He was simply obedient to what God was telling him to do, which that in and of itself is a fantastic example for you and I as believers in Jesus Christ, because God has called us to be obedient. He has called us to be obedient to his word. We don't have to always understand it. It doesn't always have to make sense to us. I don't even have to agree with that. How do you like that? You know, there's things that are in the scriptures that I really don't. I'm not the biggest fan of. I'm not a fan of hell. I'm really not a fan. I don't like talking about hell, I don't like explaining hell to people who don't know Jesus. I'm not a big fan about it.
