Sam Darnold: Despite a slow start due to injury and being behind other quarterbacks, Sam Darnold had the best efficiency stats of his career. However, it is unlikely that he will be on the Panthers next year and is likely to be competing for a lower-level quarterback position or backup role.
D'onta Foreman: As the handcuff to Christian McCaffrey, D'onta Foreman did not get many snaps until McCaffrey was traded away. However, efficiency metrics show that Foreman was a valuable pickup for fantasy teams, with a top five running back 7.5% of the time and between a top five and top 10 running back 10% of the time.
Chuba Hubbard: Chuba Hubbard was announced as the starter after the Christian McCaffrey trade and showed promise until he got injured. After working his way back, he lost his starting role but finished the season with some impressive efficiency metrics. He was 17th among all running backs in true yards per carry and 6th in yards per touch. He was also a flex play 14.3% of the time and had a solid PFF run grade. With his strong route running and pass catching capabilities, Hubbard could be a lead back in Carolina in 2023 and is a player to monitor as a late round pick in fantasy football.
DJ Moore: DJ Moore had his worst season yet in fantasy points per game, but there were still some great metrics that he hit on for the Carolina Panthers. Despite a lost season and the turnover of quarterbacks, Moore still produced and even set some career highs. He was first in air yard share among all wide receivers and seventh in unrealized air yards, indicating that he was getting open down the field but the quarterback wasn't hitting him. If the Panthers can get a quarterback who can hit Moore, he has the potential to be a borderline wide receiver one or a solid wide receiver two. He was also solid in contested catch rate and target share. DJ Moore is a landmine waiting to go off if the right situation happens and his efficiency metrics could improve if he improve on how to win with a bad quarterback. He has a scary floor but a high ceiling for 2023 fantasy football.
Laviska Shenault: Despite a lack of volume and poor quarterback play, Shenault ranks highly in yards per route run and yards after catch. Despite this, he struggled to turn his efficiency into fantasy points. However, his role in the slot and draft capital make him a player worth considering as a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.
Terrace Marshall: Despite high target quality and accuracy, Marshall struggled to turn efficiency into fantasy points. He was an outside wide receiver and his position may change with the Panthers, but he's not a player worth considering for fantasy teams in 2023.
