Penny and her dad, Jabari, are spending a fun-filled day at the big park! She even picks out her most special fancy shoes for the occasion, ready to play in style. But when Cousin DeAnne shows up, daring her to a race to the park, Penny realizes her fancy shoes aren’t as race-ready as she’d hoped. Every step becomes a little harder, and the fun feels just out of reach.

Thankfully, Jabari packed a surprise in her backpack that saves the day! With her dad’s help, Penny learns that he’s always looking out for her best interest, and she can count on him to make things right—even when things don’t go as planned.
