Brownstone Buddies meet Hanna Weiss, ASL Interpreter for What's Poppin' Penny?

What's Poppin' Penny? is thrilled to introduce our brand-new Podcast to ASL project! Hanna Weiss is our ASL Interpreter, who creates the video your Brownstone Buddies watch on YouTube. 

Every Brownstone Buddy deserves access. Our Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and non-verbal friends and their Trusted Adults should never miss a single pop. ASL is the third most used language in the United States — a language that empowers children with Down Syndrome, preverbal toddlers, and so many more. When a child has the tools to communicate, they flourish.

This week on What's Poppin' Penny?, we take a nostalgic trip down memory lane with a story that’s close to my heart—Contrary Perry!

I wrote this tale for my Paigie, who, at three years old, was a giggly, spirited little girl with a knack for turning every request into a playful adventure of doing the opposite. Now, 30 years later, my daughter is all grown up, and I’m the proud grandmother of two rambunctious little girls who remind me so much of her and Contrary Perry!
