Today's readings celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. We'll hear how the Spirit descended upon the apostles at Pentecost, enabling them to proclaim God's mighty works to people from every nation. The Gospel takes us back to that first Easter evening when the risen Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit upon his fearful disciples, sending them forth with his peace.
