Hello besties & Hello 2023!!! We are SO pumped to be back from our break & to bring you our FIRST episode of 2023!

In this episode we speak a ton about how our two week break really helped us slow down & realign with both ourselves and our businesses...

We get REAL with you about the burnout we experienced at the end of 2022 & how we are shifting our perspectives and priorities to make sure that that never happens again...

During our two week break, we had the opportunity to REALLY reflect on our lives, our businesses, & our mindsets. We realized that not only do we need to bring a TON of change into our lives, but we strengthened our mindsets & feel more clear minded about the action steps we need to take moving forward.

We go DEEP into this & really bring you in on it. We do this with the intention to help YOU. We all deserve to live a life that feels REALLY, REALLY GOOD! But in order to do that, we need to prioritize slowing down & aligning ourselves and our businesses with the reality we want to live!

We figured...lets start this Holiday week off with a BANG!

Oh my goodness!!! First off we would like to say THANK YOU! This is one of our last episodes of 2022 & we are SOOOO grateful for all of you & the time that we have spent together this year! We had SOOOO much fun creating Steph, Jess & now Besties moments with you!

We are taking a two week break Besties....yes you read that right, we are taking a two week break from podcasting & our regular posting on Instagram! We are absolutely honored to have them on the podcast. They both got SO vulnerable & shared amazing tips about starting a business!

Here's a bit about both them & NextGen Counsel to get you excited for this episode!

After working in law firms for ten years, Michael saw how the upfront retainer fee, hourly rates, and uncertainty of overall costs kept many small businesses from getting the representation they need and deserve.  The pandemic only further laid bare how disadvantaged small businesses are, in part, by not having had access to legal services from their earliest stages of development. After becoming further disillusioned by the status quo, Michael & Stephanie embarked on the journey to create their own small business, with the goal of being a resource for others.

 Michael has been a practicing attorney for over ten years and comes from a family of attorneys.  He previously worked at two law firms that handled a wide variety of legal work in both New Jersey and New York. As a result, he has taken on almost every type of case there is, with the exception of divorce because he is not a masochist! Michael has focused his efforts on employment law, business litigation, consumer law, and construction. However, he never felt that the traditional law firm is where he belongs, and wanted to find a way to live well and do good.

Stephanie was in the fashion business for 18 years, earning a reputation as a master of all trades and essentially running a $500 million business. But her priorities shifted, and she knew that her knowledge and experience were transferable to any business. Using her merchandising background, Stephanie analyzed Michael’s idea for NextGen Counsel, researched the market and competitors, ran scenarios, and said, “it can work, let’s do it.” She is not a lawyer and yes, she wears many harts. Stephanie wouldn’t have it any other way. 

Their running joke is Michael is the talent and Stephanie is the talent manager, (which means she is the boss)!

BESTIES!!!

You know when you just have one of THOSE feelings! That feeling where everything in your body is telling you YES or NO!!!

Do you listen to your intuition....what does it mean to you when you have a gut feeling or instinct?!  

On this episode of Besties & Business we get REAL with you. We take on you a journey of when we first had THAT feeling about creating  Besties & Business & why we feel like it is SO important to listen to those GUT instincts when you do have them. 

When we first started Besties...we both just had this feeling. It's something that we do our best to put into words in this episode. At times in life though, it can be REALLY hard to put into words how you feel when something AMAZING is happening, that you just KNOW is going to be life changing!

Sometimes you just trust your instincts, good & bad. When we created Besties that's EXACTLY how we felt. We trust our instincts, we didn't know WHY but we KNEW we had to follow our heart & intuition. 

We really want that for you Bestie! In this episode we really break down why it is SOOO important to check in with your gut instincts & find what works for you, to listen to that voice in your head telling you to GO for the idea on your heart. 

We challenge you this week Besties to REALLY find what works for you, wether it be checking with your gut, your heart & even just having a conversation with your Business Bestie about an idea that you have been thinking about for SOOO long. We challenge you to start listening to that nudge that is in your soul telling you to JUST GO FOR IT! 

We truly believe that when an idea is given to you, if you fight it, the universe is going to find a WAY to make it happen for you when you least expect it, so why not just go for it?!?!
