  • The Coming Jewish Holocaust | Matthew 24:15-31

Working mainly from Matthew 24:15-31, Pastor Richard Hill teaches on what Yeshua said would happen to the Jewish people in the middle of Jacob's trouble, and why he believes one more holocaust is still ahead. He begins with Hasatan's long war against God's redemption plan, arguing that if the Jewish people can be destroyed there will be no remnant left to call Yeshua back in His second coming.

The Message walks through a list of past holocausts, from Antiochus Epiphanes in 168 BC to the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Russian pogroms and Hitler's murder of six million, and includes Elie Wiesel's chapter "Why Am I Afraid?" and a personal account of breaking down in tears at Yad Vashem on a 2019 tour of Israel.

From there he builds the prophetic picture: the regathering promised in Ezekiel 36, the seventieth week of Daniel 9:27, the man of lawlessness in 2 Thessalonians 2, the flight to the wilderness in Revelation 12, and Zechariah's word that two thirds in the land will be cut off while a third passes through the refiner's fire and is saved. He closes with five reasons the congregation should care, including sharing the good news with Jewish people now and praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

  • Yeshua the Messianic Hope of Sukkot | Leviticus 23:39-43

On the eve of Sukkot, Pastor Richard Hill opens Leviticus 23:39-43, where God commands the Feast of Tabernacles: seven days of rejoicing, four species of branches, and booths built so that every generation would remember that Israel lived in sukkot when God brought them out of Egypt. The theme he draws out of the whole feast is simple and repeated throughout: God is with us.

From there the Message moves to the Second Temple celebration, the water drawing from the pool of Siloam, the seventh day called Hoshana Rabbah, the singing of Psalm 118, and the four towering candelabras that lit the courts of Jerusalem at night. Against that backdrop he reads John 7, where Yeshua stands on the last great day of the feast and calls the thirsty to come and drink, and John 8 and 9, where He declares Himself the light of the world and sends a blind man to wash in the very pool from which the water was drawn.

The final section looks ahead to the feast's future fulfillment: Zechariah 12 and 14, the nations gathered against Jerusalem, the living waters flowing east and west, and the nations going up year by year to keep Sukkot in the Messianic Kingdom. He closes in Revelation 21, where the tabernacle of God is among men in the New Jerusalem forever.

    In this message

    • Sukkot follows Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur as the third of the fall feasts, still awaiting its future fulfillment
    • Leviticus 23:39-43 commands seven days of rejoicing, with a rest on the first day and an eighth day, Shemini Atzeret
    • The four species explained: etrog, lulav, hadassim and aravot
    • Sadducees waved the branches in worship, Pharisees used them to build the sukkot, and both practices were kept in Yeshua's day
    • Why God commanded the booths: so every generation would know He sheltered Israel coming out of Egypt
    • God's provision in the wilderness, the cloud, the rock, the manna, the quail, and clothes that did not wear out
    • Hoshana Rabbah, the last great day, with seven circuits of the altar and the singing of Psalm 118:25-26
    • Yeshua's cry in John 7:37-39 at the moment the water was poured out at the base of the altar
    • The 75-foot candelabras in the court of the women and Yeshua's words, I am the light of the world
