We are called to work for God; we are anointed to build the Kingdom as we fight to bring the purposed of God to come to fruition through our lives.

As Christians, as followers of Christ, we are not to just embrace Christ, but we are to abandon our former ways of life.  We are to renounce the works of darkness and give ourselves completely to following after God.

David not only broke the barrier that had been placed in the way of God's people, but when he broke through, God used him to raise the bar to such an extent, that not only he and his men, but the following generations would consider killing giants as par for the course.  We, the church need to once again raise the bar of what is expected of us and what we are called to do.

Christ equips the Church with grace, through "grace gifts," that he has given to the Church. These gifts to the Church are people that He has put grace on in order to impart that grace to.

Jesus not only modeled the servant life, but He also taught the disciples that  the life He called them to, was to serve as He Himself served.  He was their teacher in this, and their example.

One question we can surely ask ourselves is, "Do people's understanding of God change based on their interaction with us?  Do we lead them to see God good and benevolent whom they want to get to know?" Like Elijah, we can all be used to bring heaven's life into the darkness around us.

It was her willingness to honor the Man of God by faith believing the Word which he gave to her that led her to receive the provision of God.

Today, we saw in more detail Nehemiah's leadership on display as he led the people of Israel to rebuild the city walls that had sat broken down for 140 years.

God's desire is that we, like Jesus who came before us, allow ourselves to be instruments of God to bring the Kingdom of God to bear in this world.

When God makes a promise, it is impossible for Him to lie.  God's promises do not change; they abide for ever as absolute truth to anchor our souls.  And all those promises are not just for the disciples of Jesus time, but they are for us too if we, knowing the will of God, will but believe.
