Fellowship With God - Joy Fulfilled

We became followers of Christ the moment we believed in the truth of His gospel and trusted in Him as our Lord and Savior. The proof that we have indeed believed in Him and been born again is evidenced by our daily lives. The Apostle John writes his first letter to give us assurance of our salvation by providing evidences of new life: believing what is true of Christ, righteousness in daily living, and love for one another.

Bethel Church is pleased to host Dr. Walter C. Kaiser, Jr. in the pulpit as we celebrate missions.

Dr. Kaiser's use of hermeneutics and expository preaching methods, his knowledge of the whole biblical text, and a God-given gift of humor make him a sought after evangelical speaker and Christian author.

Trae Vacek currently serves as Executive Director for Bridges International, the international student ministry of Cru.

Their goal is that each international student would have an opportunity to respond to the Gospel. It is a fact that every graduate will go somewhere carrying a message. All of us must ask ourselves: “Where will they go? What message will they take with them?” Students like “Jiang”, who arrived in August 2007, came to faith in Christ weeks later. During his time of study, he grew in Christ and was equipped to take the gospel back to China. Today, Jiang is an executive in an international corporation in his homeland. He is effectively reaching his business colleagues and students at a nearby university.

Bethel Church is pleased to host Dr. Walter C. Kaiser, Jr. today in the pulpit as we celebrate missions this weekend.

Dr. Kaiser’s use of hermeneutics and expository preaching methods, his knowledge of the whole biblical text, and a God-given gift of humor make him a sought after evangelical speaker and Christian author.

Dr. Kaiser completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Wheaton College, after which he taught at both Wheaton and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  He received his doctorate at Brandeis University.  He then joined the faculty of Gordon-Cornwell and soon assumed the presidency of Gordon-Conwell Seminary. He retired from the presidency of Gordon-Conwell in 2006.  Currently he is President Emeritus and Distinguished Professor of Old Testament and Ethics at Gordon-Conwell.

Dr. Kaiser investigates two unrecognized missionaries in the Bible - Enoch and Noah.

Missions will require sacrifices both here and abroad. Is it worth it? Persecution, difficulty, setbacks, and pressure are typically fertile ground for kingdom expansion.  This message prayerfully will inspire your obedience to walk in the path of Jesus Christ.

Life is much too significant and challenging to go it alone. If we are to reach God's destination for us, we need the support and encouragement of others along the way. Learn the rewards of building a partnership mentality where we no longer have to keep our burdens to ourselves, but can give and receive the help we truly need.

From the beginning, calling, discipleship, and mission belong together. This community is called to participate in Jesus‟ mission by imitating and continuing the mission of Jesus. Thus mission is central to the identity of this community from the start.

A time of leadership transition is a good time to ask: How did God intend the church to be led? What character qualities and gifts should the leaders of the church have? What are their primary roles? Ephesians 4 is one of the most straightforward Biblical passages on the last question. God provides the church with leaders who have various gifts and callings for the purpose of equipping the people of the church for works of service.
