Jacquelyn "Jackie" Mulligan Haynes, a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Saturday, August 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Dr. Stewart Haynes, Jr.

Jackie will be remembered most for her faith in Christ and many acts of kindness toward others. She loved studying the Bible, was a great prayer warrior, and touched the lives of countless people.

She is survived by her two daughters, Colleen McLane and her husband Mark, and Sondra Appel and her husband Patrick, five grandchildren, Megan Plucker and her husband Andrew, Shannon Laning and her husband Zack, Michael McLane, John Appel, Mark Appel, two great-granddaughters, Hartley Laning and Clara Plucker, her sister-in-law, Harriot Haynes Massey, and several nieces and nephews.

When Jackie married she was a fashion coordinator at Foley's. She taught school for ten years, and was a realtor for twenty. She received two degrees, a Bachelor of Science and a Master's of Education.

Jackie enjoyed painting, writing poetry, and was an avid reader. She traveled extensively and thoroughly enjoyed her memorable trips with each of her grandchildren following their twelfth birthdays. She also took great joy in the last year of her life in knowing her great-granddaughters, Hartley and Clara.

She was a member of Bethel Church, Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, Bible Study Fellowship, Community Bible Study, Gideon's Auxiliary, Auxiliary to the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and a Junior League of Houston patron.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Church, Community Bible Study, or a charity of your choice.
