-Not to do good things for God, but to allow the Spirit to do good deeds for us and through us.

-We can continue to walk according to the flesh. Or we can kill that which is killing us, or we can kill that which is killing us.

The "law of sin" makes us slaves. It forces us to do what we don't want to. It brings death. Those "in Christ Jesus" can be set free from the law of sin and death. Believers have power available through the law of the Spirit of life. The Spirit can bring life and peace. As believers, we now have a "freedom" choice. To walk according to the flesh or to walk according to the Spirit.

A. He initiates it.

B. It is usually short and profound.

C. We must process it.

II. Lasting spiritual change is established by Scripture.

A. Experiences alone can be forgotten.

B. Experiences alone can be misinterpreted.

III. Lasting spiritual change is enhanced by other disciples.

A. They can reinforce our experience.

B. They can encourage our faithfulness.
